If Ayu had worked with TK from her debut..

What songs or sound do you think he would have given her? I think he would have ditched hitomi and just given all her songs tbh.

Dance who sound outdated in 2000 ^^ I love TK's dance songs XD Considering he kept the experimental tracks for globe I don't know ? But I really prefer the songs for globe than the ones for Namie, Tomomi Kahala, Ami Suzuki etc...

I think he would have given her songs like those of Namie, Kahala Tomomi, etc... As much as I love a lot of his songs, I'm glad Ayu didn't worked with him right from the start.

There were no chance that he works with her because at that time Komuro was in in bad terms with max matsuura and this last one wanted to get rid o f him and create himself a new big star ^^

they'd sound horribly dated
ASfXX would sound more modern
there'd be 1-2 songs that would be good (like name's and aim's TK selection)

In the early 2000s got Japan sick of TK and her career would have suffered for it. She would have been just another semi-forgotten 90s act if she did.

^ In 1998 hitomi stopped working with TK for more creative control and became bigger than she already was. So assuming Ayu started with him in like 1995 and did the same thing her legacy could have potentially been bigger

I can't imagine what he would give her, probably typical cute-ish j-pop songs like he did for yuchida yuki and mizuki alisa? dumbed down versions of tomomi kahala songs, 4th member of dos...the possibilities are endless~

i really love the Komuro 90s style...i think he is an alive legend, he brought to japan all the elecnronic and under style that makes the 90s a big decade. his globe proyect was so experimental and interested, and the TRF party songs was just uniques.

i think the dark atmosphere of the early ayu songs it would be sound perfect with the intense sound of komuro
i can imagine a song like "Itoshi sato Setsuna sato Kokoro suyo sato" in the lips of ayu

Actually, the only problem with TK is that he was really overplayed, the market got saturated and his sound got dated due overuse.

Well, personally I don't think it's because of overuse. Unfortunately, to me, TKs older works are the opposite of wine and scotch, the older, the worse. Those TK songs are some of the songs I've ever heard age the worst in my whole life..I mean, hitomi's older album are a kick in the balls as well as namie's. They both became much better after they got rid of TK. Thankfully ayu only got his compositions recently, and hopefully they'll just keep to a few.

But are you saying this based on your impressions after hearing his stuff now or did you listen to him back in the 90's? There's a huge difference.

Is somewhat like that staple 80's sound based on Michael Jackson's classics that everyone was copying back them... It was/is so used everywhere by everyone that is hard to use it nowadays without sounding old...

I listened to him in the 2000's and thought they were regular to annoying, and as I think of today, it sounds even more nauseating. I agree with what someone else said that Globe's song were slightly more well produced than the rest, because it's true, from the whole TK discography, Globe's were the ones able to age a little more properly than the whole rest of his productions. On the other hand, a lot of Michael Jackson's 70 and 80's songs, I only got to listen to them around 2008 (a yerar before his death), and they were amazing, and still are some of his best songs. MJ ages/d properly. TK doesn't/idn't, because most of his old composition are quite cheesy (though it's a bit of unfairness imo to compare MJ to any other pop composer in the world). Don't get me wrong, I love and am very nostalgic of music from the past, I love how in the 80's there was more use for sax in songs and the drum beats were much more drmatic like those in "Live To Tell". This kind of stuff makes you notice the song is old, but it still makes the sound stand fairly nicely and uniquely up to nowadays in my point of view; with TK songs, I dunno, maybe the problems was he actually had amateur singers to sing his compositions back then? But I think even with a great singer it still would sound sort of off and cheesy somewhat...like ayu's SIGNAL song..., which I like but I know it's one of the main ayu songs that aged pretty badly.
