The discounts make people who wouldn't make it a priority to buy the album to spend their money on it, but it's not like someone who isn't interested at all would buy it just because it's cheaper. If people weren't interested they wouldn't even get it for free.

This is true! I wonder if that television show "Enka no Ran" also helped because someone had covered SEASONS. One of the top girls on The Karaoke Battle on TV Tokyo also chose A Song for XX as one of her songs not long ago, too.

We're entering a different age of artists, so chances are high school/college-aged kids are picking up what their parents listened to...
