Questions about the ending of monochrome
Hmm, very curious to know why does "monochrome" stops so abruptly that i thought the track was faulty initially, can anyone explain why?

My only guess was that perhaps Ayu wanted it to end like that. When I first heard the guy talking at the end, I thought it was a fake song, but it turns out that it's just how it is

^ too bad, she does though. I don't think there's an explanation besides the fact that she wants to.
But 'monochrome' on the 'A Single' doesn't end abruptly. |

All "monochrome"s end abruptly. If you read masa's reviews I think he tries to give an explanation for that cut...It has to do with the lyrics, meaning the thoughts in the lyrics have to be interrupted like the song..something like that.

I first thought that it was a glitch in my CD. But then, listening to the single version, that guy says, "Yeah, right..." and I realized that it was because...
At the end of the song, she sings La la la la la la la~i... 大丈夫だってうなずいた La la la la la la la~i... 私はとても強いから [I said OK, nodding in agreement Because I am so strong...] It's a front that the person in the song is putting up, I think. She reluctantly agreed, saying that she was strong. I imagine her looking upset and singing such words. It's like people who say, "I'm fine, I'm fine," so that people don't see their weakness. So, the guy says, "Yeah right." And the album cuts off after the lie is uttered. I think MASA-san's explanation is much the same, no?

"When "monochrome" was put into the album, one idea was added to ―― to cut off the music just after the last phrase, suggesting the opposite meaning. I think it shows straight which was her real intention" There's more to that, of course, so check out the above link. So essentially, you were right on the interpretation, hanabiwings ![]() |

Ayu seems to have a thing for that, "Independent" stops ebrutly while filtering into "+" on Rainbow. One can only get a full version of the song on "H". Might just be clever marketting to sell more CDs...

It's how it's suppose to be. x] i think we talked about this already somewhere in the threads...
The lyrics are really optimistic and saying how "I'll be stronger" but in the end the "yeah right" doubts her point.

The album version, on top of having a different mix, just suddenly stops and is interrupted by the interlude. I never liked that... the "yeah right" solidifies the idea that ayu's lying to herself, saying she's strong... the interruption does help say that, but the "yeah right" really makes you go "oooh, i get it".
