Classical Music?

okay so im taking Music107 in college, which is teh study of classical music and alot of it has hit me as, just really beautiful music. I know not alot of people can admit they listen to it, but honestly, anyone here actually enjoy it? I dunno before I took the class I liked it but I;d never know the title or anything, but I think this class has really helped me look more at genres that are more uncommon or whatever you wanna call it. But yeah anyone just sometimes feel in a mood where theyd rather just relax, put some good old Mozart or Beethtoven haha or whatever? i mean I wouldnt be blasting it in my car or nothing haha.

Or am I alone?

Yeah, I took a Humanities in Art class and we spent a few weeks on classical music... it was so amazing. I don't understand how one person can write music for every instrument and make it all come together.

I like classical music! and darn proud of it too^^ I especially enjoy the piano and the string instruments. I forgot what the musical term is for it tho, haha, or if there is even one.

...I am so confused right now O.O

Although I'm not a big fan of classical music, I can definitely appreciate it, and I do like some. My favorites are Debussey and Mussorgsky, brilliant stuff. The Chinese movie 'Together' sparked my interest again as well; it's got a great, classical soundtrack, that I recommend highly (along with the movie).

I love classical music, I'm still new at liking it, my favourites so far are Tchaikovsky, Bach and Vivaldi. I have two sets of several classical music CDs, I really must listen to more of them.

hey, I don't deny it's good. It's just definately not my taste. However, Chinese "classical" music is a different story. Too long a story. Suffice it to say, I like that.

There's this beautiful song, Con te partiro by Andrea Bocelli. I guess you'd call it Opera... but classical and opera go hand in hand And this song is absolutely gorgeous! Myself, I'm a bit of a Wagner fan.

Yes, i like classical aswell. Don't know titles or anything but i'll definately listen if i like it.

Also, this may be cheating, but i treat most of the music from the final fantasy game series (and chrono series) as classical... i highly doubt i'm mistaken either

A lot of videogame music can be considered as orchestral (although often synthetized) - surely it's not classical, but definitely similar, stylistically.

And I agree, I wuuuv videogame soundtracks as well. In fact, I'm gonna listen to the Chrono Cross soundtrack in a couple of minutes. Hella good.

love classical music although it is true that i don't usually tell ppl that ... it's sad...
seriously, classical music is the most sublime form of music. the music we listen to nowadays is all derived from classical music in some ways. unfortunately, there's basically no one now who can compose music like Chopin, Rachmaninov, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Liszt, etc.

ahh Pachelbel has to be one of my fav songs *hears it now* thats kinda what sparked me to make this thread haha.

Some video games have teh best orchestral songs ever, or well just soundtracks. I like the shenmue soundtracks since it combines classic asian instruments as well, so many good ones.

I think those gregorian Chant songs are cool, *thinks Zelda* oh yeah
