Foreign Bands?
Hi! part of our final project for school is to review a few bands, but make it seem professional. My professor stated that we have to go out and find a few bands from other countries, listen to some of it, put it on a CD and review it. I dont really feel like doing any japanese music since, I think that'd be cheating. I want to do something different so I come here for all your help
![]() Does anyone know any good european songs/bands? or maybe some south american songs?

What kind of bands should these be? Any band, or a specific type? I can provide you with a bunch of bands from Europe, so just say so if it can be anything or not. If you got any personal preferences, do say so, too!

A couple of songs, various styles, various countries and all that:
Alec Empire Vs. Merzbow - The Destroyer Versus Merzbow - Germany (Alec Empire) teaming up with Japan (Merzbow); distorted breakbeats and crackling noises, an acquired taste! Millencolin - Duckpond - Sweden; punkrock, largely influenced by American bands. Death In Vegas - Girls - UK; hot stuff. Air - Alone In Kyoto - France; beautiful. Relax - What The F#$k - Holland; funky hiphop band (like, a real band, with an actual drummer and stuff). Novastar - When The Lights Go Down On The Broken Hearted - Belgium; brilliant singer-songwriter music. Some random stuff, hope it helps! I got a lot more stuff from Holland if you'd need that (probably not, haha), just so you know, but other than, I've got mostly stuff from Japan, US, and UK.

I just remembered, maybe you should try to add some Sigúr Ros, too, they're from Iceland. I'll have to see if I have any stuff by them though.
And oh yeah, uh, Alec Empire vs. Merzbow is some pretty intense stuff if you're not used to it, so don't turn up the volume I'd say.

I have more Air and Death In Vegas stuff, but decided to upload these ones as they're just excellent. Glad to see you like Millencolin, by the way! I liked them a lot back when I still listened to punkrock.

You mean more foreign music, or more Millencolin?
(or more punkrock, for that matter XD) Anyway, if you mean foreign stuff, I got some more Dutch music, and, just remembered, some Russian music I was recommended to listen to by a friend (hated it, but that's a different story).

Well, a good source for finding some new and mostly underground music is epitonic.com. They've got boatloads of bands there, including some really good ones (Envy, Low, Film School). I highly recommend you to look around there sometime, it's great just downloading random music and seeing what you like yourself. Some recommendations:
Envy - earcrushing, but astonishingly gripping. Film School - check out their song 'Activated', it's beautiful! Low - brilliant, soothing, check out 'Sunflower'. Reizoko - something different than you're probably used too, but worth checking out, listen to 'Misk'. Muslimgauze - avant-garde, definitely, but it's great stuff, check out 'Old Bombay Vinyl Junkie'. These aren't foreign bands though, apart from Envy, who are from Japan, and Muslimgauze, from UK. Some more songs: Scram C Baby - Trainer/Container - Holland; great rockband. Face Tomorrow - Steering Wheel - Holland; great emo band, this is from their debut, back when they still were good (VERY good, even), they've changed styles eversince. Alamo Race Track - Trunk - Holland; awesome band, you should actually hear the whole album as they're doing so many different things, it's like, well, wow. I'll upload some more Millencolin later, as I'm off to go sleep now, ánd because I'm out of webspace. Enjoy the files.

I can recommend you some Finnish bands. You propably(/maybe) already know HIM or the Rasmus...or Hanoi Rocks
ANyway here are some names: Suburban Tribe, Flaming sideburns, Tiktak, Killer, Negative, Smak.....the list go on and on, but I just woke up sometime ago and I'm a bit sleepy, I can't come up with any other bands... I should listen to radio more often...

Rammstein's a great German band. I have all of their CDs and I can upload some if you want me to. Their new CD is amazing. Blind Guardian is another German band, but they sing in English. Then there's Finntroll, which is kind of like polka metal (the one song I've heard is actually kind of funny). Die Apokalyptischen Reiter is another great German band, too. I have most of their CDs on my computer. I don't know if this counts, but Mike Patton did a CD with a Norweigian artist Kaada, and it's really good. And that's all I've got right now.
