You Know You're An Ayu Fan When......

Ok, I pre-apologize because I think we've already done something like this before, but I couldn't find it when I searched...

I'll get the ball rolling,
  • You crack glowsticks when you watch Ayu concerts on your DVD player
  • You bust out into the Trauma dance at dancing events
  • The letters A, H, M, and the & symbol have an entirely new meaning for you
  • You name your child after her, even though it is clearly not Japanese
  • When you see the American flag, you don't think of the things it stands for, you think of Evolution

Now it's your turn

You make a little 'A' sign out of a sticker sheet, so when you tan you have a little 'A' on your belly!!!

-You don't know who new american artists are
-your "number 1 hits" playlist, which contains 200 songs, consists of 186 ayumi hamasaki songs
-Your friends don't want you to put on CD's anymore
-You use your iPod for PV's
-You have Connected, Trauma, M, Fly high, Evolution, and UNite! as ringtones for your 6 best friends that call you all the time
-Ayu is the only person who you haven't gotten sick of after putting on repeat for hours

I don't see how that's got anything to do with being a fan of Ayu.

Now allow me to explain. IMO, the fact that one does in fact like Ayu does not mean he or she does not love any other music by definition. I myself still consider myself as a fan of Ayu (although I find her recent output disappointing), but that doesn't mean I have no knowledge of American music. I listen to anything, Japanese, American, Dutch, French, English music - I'm fine with anything as long as it's good. Being into Ayu does not automatically make it impossible to listen to anything other than her or anything other than Jpop, at least, not for me.

-you put the sign everywhere you can think of (notebooks, art drawing, drawing on your hand, books, post-it-note stickys, etc.
-you don't know whats going on in the american music culture
-talk about her all the time even though the people that you are talking to are like "ayu-who?"
-can't wait until you meet another ayu-naught-fan (such as yourself) that turns out to be your best friend and lives near you even though that will never be true, but you still have that little hope...

My best friend lives close by, and we're both huge Ayu fans. ^_^

-When you check this board every day to see if you do the things mentioned
-When you learn Japanese by listening to Ayumi's songs
