Ayupan Shop

Here's a scanned article of ayupan shop, Ayumi's souvenir store.
Click on the link to download the picture, while enjoying my translated caption

THE AYUPAN SHOP

The newest store opened at Tokyo's Shinjuku District, its business is now soaring up high into the sky ever since its debut on last December! Let's have a look at what they have been selling!

The design of the store: Pink! Very cutie!

1. Best selling Items:

The soft toy which was based upon two of Ayumi's pet dogs. Once created a record of 2000 sold on one single business day. The white "Crea" is the most popular.

(RM50, USD 13.20)

2. Best Buy

Ayupan Bath Towel. Featuring the "Cool Scotland" and the "Cute Pink Ayupan Anime", two styles.

(RM 20, USD 5.30)

3. Kiddie type

The Ayupan Handkerchiefs, more suitable for collective purposes...

(RM30, USD 7.90)

4. Worst Buy

The "Egg Ayupans" (Note 3), Bad worksmanship although features various postures. Mostly fans might just give it a try...

(RM 10 each, USD 2.60)

5. Common Buy

The word "Common" here means the usual items that almost every customers will buy. Well it's the Ayupan handphone string. Unlike any other handphone strings. It's unisex and thus becoming very popular among the male customers, especially teens.

6. The most Difficult Item to get is...

Stylish Cards, more than 40 types for you to choose from, however, these are the random gifts which acts as a giveaway depending on how many items you buy... gotta spend alot to collect all of them.

(Not For Sale, gifts)

Note 1: The RM means Ringgit Malaysia, whcih is the currency of Malaysia. 1 USD = RM 3.8. This rate was set by the Malaysian Government and will not change until further notice, since 4 years ago.

Note 2: The USD shown in this article were based upon the exchange rate against the RM, the actual price in Japanese Yen should vary from time to time. It should be a reference and should not be a guide which was based upon accuracy in the first place.

Note 3: There are machines which sell these "ayupans", just drop the coin into it, turn the handle and a plastic egg pops out, open up the egg and you will get the ayupan.

Why, the latest issue of the Y.Generation "Qing Chun" of course. I think there are some copies found at the KL's roadside bookstalls.... try your luck at there.

i'm still trying to find the ayupan store. i was in shinjuku last weekend and i couldn't find it. the only place i was able to find anything was at tower records in shibuya, and they only had the phonestraps. (i bought one anyways, but i still want to go to the real store.) (>_<)

The Ayupan shops kind of remind me of the Pokemon shops in Japan... Gotta catch 'em all!

One thing I'm wondering is how many Ayupans have been made... there must be at least 50, with one for almost every Ayu song or PV, and things like some of her tours... I wonder how Ayupans have gotten so popular, and with this store, surely the Ayupan "fad" won't be going down anytime soon
