Why do you admire the artist you admire?

I know there are others here besides me but in all honesty, I truly do admire ayumi and I love her with such a passion! I have truly dedicated all if not most of my free time and money for her. She truly is an inspiration to me. why? obviously the way she writes her songs. There are always meaning behind it that I can relate to. If I can't relate to it, than i can picture on what she is feeling when she wrote it. Besides that she is real not like britney (she is such a good example for this!-sorry brit) and I could never be half as amazing as she is! Anyways why do you like the artist you like? Doesn't have to be asian. could be spice girls for all i care.

I admire artists that I listen to simply because they have the talent I don't: creating great music. Be it strong vocals, catchy tunes, or just incredible technical skills with their instruments. That's pretty much why I admire most of my artists. Ayumi is on a whole different level though. Her works inspires me and makes me think a lot, that's why I like her so much.

I admire artistes through the feeling of their songs. Some artistes have songs that I can just feel and notice even with the faintest of volumes. Like Natalie Imbruglia. Fiona Apple is also starting to grow on me, I like the feel of her songs. They're unique and can be easily distinguished.
Looks also count sometimes, but its not essential. Just like an add-on, freebie, side dish, etcetera. Voice is the same.
And the rest I agree with Piccolo.

Always important.

But right now I'm really impressed with/in awe of/admiring Atari Kousuke.

He became inspired by a singer from his area, and decided that he would actually like to follow that path as well.
And instead of just saying "I'd like to do that" he actually worked his ass off and made it happen!

I just find it so amazing, that one day he was looking up to another singer, and a few years later, he is constantly being compaired to her, and is even on the same label!

To me, being able and willing to work to actually achieve your dreams is just amazing.
It's something I could never do.

I admire them because their skills. Some of my fav artists are good at singing, others at songwriting, and most of them sound exactly like the music i'd like to create someday.

I admire Sarah McLachlan because she sounds just as good live as she does in studio.. plus her songs have amazing lyrics.

She also has techno CD's, which is one thing that draws me to an artist.
Sounds kinda familiar...

I admire their strenght of character and persistence. Take Ami Suzuki. She might not be insanely popular anymore yet I admire her immensely for her strenght of overcoming getting kicked out of her company and still persisting to keep on singing. It impressed me how she kept on trying and taking chances when she could have easily given up and started something else.

I also admire how Ayu takes risks. She releases stuff which might not even make it well yet she does it a lot of times. And she manages to inspire me and give me a lot of feelings from her music and manage to amaze me every time I listen to her music.

I admire there struggle and there lyricism. Here are the people I admire, and why I admire them.t:
Koda Kumi:Strong successful beautiful. Her music isn't to bad either. Some of her songs are very deep.
Ayumi Hamasaki:She hasn't had the perfect life. She still made her way to the top. She had to struggle. She shows alot of her weaknesses in her lyrics even though she acts like superwoman alot.
hitomi:She's a successful wife mother and singer. I hope to achieve all of those goals myself. She also has songs that make me think. Songs that I relate to.
Gackt:Mostly his lyrics. Yeahhe's hot but when I read his lyrics it's like the true him is expose. Does that make sense? I read some stuff about him and it made me sad. I'm not huge into analyzing singers but I've been analyzing him lately. He's a really sad person. He shows so many ifferent sides of himself in his music. One song he seems childish another he seems like such a lost man.
BoA: She's done so much at such a young age. She's such a positive role model for young people. Through everything she still seems grounded. She still seems like a regular young lady despite all of the fame.

I mainly listen to the people I listen to due to their voice... if they have a great voice, and how much emotion and emphasis they put into it. I always feel the emotion in Ayumi's songs, so I really like her... I also like Billy Talent because of that... not someone that I'd usually listen to, but the way he sings is really intense ^__^; I like it...

Also, it's a huge bonus if they write their own lyrics~ Also, if they are not ****ty or skany ^^;

Don't laugh, but I greatly admire Christina Aguilera because she didn't listen to what everybody said about her so called "Dirrty" image and kept singing. She has a really powerful voice and I think she's absolutely beautiful. And of course, I truly admire Ayumi Hamasaki because she writies (and sometimes composes) her own music, and the lyrics of her songs are llike NOTHING I've ever heard before. They express all the words I've never had the words to say, and of course, she has a very beautiful voice.

I admire Gwen Stefani, Ayumi Hamasaki and Koda Kumi because they have a very heart warming and captivating personality. They always make me laugh when I watch interviews with them. They`re kind, free spirited and down to earth. They don`t act all stuck up and better than everyone else. They`re just normal everyday people doin` what they love to do.

Gwen Stefani because she`s a fighter. She`s tough. I love her Hollaback Girl song. Someone was talking ***** about her and she fought back. You go Gwennie! She`s also very stylish and she`s a great entertainer. She `s definetly a chameleon. I love her videos. Great storyline and very stylish clothes. And her songs and very upbeat too.

Ayu because she`s very open with her music. Very free. She expresses herself cleary and I`m really touched by that. Her songs make me cry.

Kuu mainly because she`s different. She has a different sense of style. Her style as well as her songs and PV`s go back and forth between sexy and quirky. She balances it out.

Hahaha, why do people keep saying Britney is fake and Hamasaki isn't? Hamasaki is just as fake as Britney other than the fact that Hamasaki writes almost all her lyrics.

I don't always admire people. I admire Utada because she does new things with her music. I admire Shiina Ringo because she really mixes up her lyrical style and often times the sound of her music. She's also really funny and sarcastic-like.
