Hahaha. I never buy cds anymore. I download them all now. I'm cheap, I know, but college students have no money!

Haha that's true. Being a college student leaves you with no money, or time to earn good money. It's impossible for me to get a job since I have full-time classes. The money I have go mostly for the books and instruments of my studies. Thanks god my university is for free because if I had to pay that as well then: The record companies forgive me but cd burning has made wonders to me. If I had the money though I would really prefer to buy the originals cause I appreciate more the things I get with hardship, plus you can appreciate the booklet, the cover and the cd as well.

I only use mp3 files for one reason, that is to sample something I haven't heard before. I could not listen to mp3 sourced CDs all of the time. The sound quality is just horrid. Especially on a nice sound system or a good pair of headphones. You can tell a difference.

Yeah I agree. although mp3s can have nearly cd quality, it loses most of it when it's burned as a wav file on the cd. I have a nice sound system connected to my computer and when I play mp3s directly from the computer on it and compare with the burned cd track the difference is great. I really don't see any problem on buying cds and I think it's much more covenient than wasting the time downloading mp3s that are often bad ripped (I always have to listen to every mp3 I download to see if there's no glitch. It amazes me that almost 50% of the mp3s I download have glitches and I have to discard them and look for a more perfect quality of rip) but since you need cash to buy cds and I don't have enough, then i have to go with mp3s. Plus I can't tolerate the music from my country. And they only sell either national or international (USA or rarely, UK releases only) and i'm more inclined to japanese songs, and there's nothing japanese on sell here. I would have to import them and it would have to be in dollars and the currency from my country has a low value compared to dollar, meaning I would have to spend 3 or more times more than a regular cd.

I just bought Tori Amos' "Scarelet's Walk" album the other week. Before that (I didn't buy it, someone else did) was Rainbow. Not many good albums (in my opinion) have been coming out in the US.

yeah, OLP is a great band! I don't like their new work as much, there new guitarist isn't as interesting as their old one (yes, sadly they replaced their guitarist for the gravity album- hence the "heavier" sound). I use heavier in quotes because they tried to be heavier, but it doesn't work too well, because they really aren't meant to be a "heavy" band.... I still love "Happiness..." It rates as one of the best albums I have ever bought

thanx to info tech i download all my songs now; i don't think it's pretti efficient for me to buy an entire cd just because if i like 1 song...

i mean if i bought everi one of ayu's single b'coz i like the songs, then i would be been broke 10 times~ haha
