What do you think will Ayu's next Album be like?

Let's chat about Ayu's next Album^^

My Story was a rock-album and Missunderstood a funky-Pop Album-what do you think will the next Album be like?

Do you think it will be a mini album?

Do you think the orginal Version of Teens will be on it-or do you think Teens will be only on the Startin'/Born to be Single?

What do you think will the colours/Booklet/cover Style of the Album be like?

Do you think there'll be a Bonus Track or a special?

i will answer according to your questions:

Do you think it will be a mini album?
ehm..i think no....it will be a full album

Do you think the orginal Version of Teens will be on it-or do you think Teens will be only on the Startin'/Born to be Single?
i think teens will not be in the album...but who knows~
i want to hear the version of teens that ayu sang at Hey Hey Hey 500th special live!

What do you think will the colours/Booklet/cover Style of the Album be like?
ehmm... i can't really describe it..but i want something artistic..more graphics..not like (miss)understood with a very plain graphic..

Do you think there'll be a Bonus Track or a special?

TO me it seems like it will be like RAINBOW. Mostly popish. But it's hard to tell. (m) u was a complete mess genrewise. I hope she'll have some continuety in the album, like with duty, MY STORY, I am.., LOVEppears etc. At least the songs on the singles so far are more alike than the one released before (m) u.

I don't think it will be a minialbum. And I don't think teens will be on it. Perhaps teens will show up on the next remixalbum though! (IF it ever releases... -_-)

Hopefully the next single will be a single A-side, allthough that's probably not going to happen with her bad sales lately.

I have no clue about the graphics.

I don't think it will be a mini-album and I don't think it's going to have 'teens' in it. The album will probably have 6 single songs and around 8 album songs; and like *Petit* said, I think it's going to be more popish. She'll probably make another 2-3 PVs specifically for the album songs, and more bonuses on the DVD (such as making of..) and probably different covers for the First Press editions (like MY STORY)

Knowing avex, they'll probably find something like a photobook or a shirt to include with it..

I'd love an Ayu shirt for Christmas :p :p

I think it's too soon to tell what the style of the album will be like. She's only released 2 singles since her latest album, sp you can't really tell what kind of music she'll stick with for her next album. I hope she'll record some more rock songs, I simply love her rock music.

I think it's definitly not going to have the variety of genres of (miss)understood. Even though I much prefer a lot of variety in albums even if it sacrifices overall a consistent style, most people tend to prefer coherency and continuity. Based on the singles thus far, I would agree that the new album will probably be much like RAINBOW. A lot of interesting pop songs mixed in with some very uncoventional yet beautiful ballads like Dolls and Free & Easy. Even though I love Ayu's rock songs, I have a feeling there will only be maybe one or two rocks songs at most, albeit very polished (is this LOVE?) or poppy (Humming 7/4) rock songs.

completely incorrect.

all of the singles and songs she's released for this album all sound alike with different words. and a few more lalalalas to fill in for the lack of lyrics.

ayumi could be recorded taking a dump and produce a better album than when she thinks what kind of music would be good.

Most ayu songs have some kind of insensical lyrics. Not just these one. The rest of that statement it just stupid. Startin' sounds the same as.. BLUE BIRD?

Unless she's gonna make some changes right now; her new album will be extremely EASY and mellow. It's gonna be PERFECT to just listen to, to use it as backgroundmusic... easy pop.. Maybe it is still an influence from Sweetbox; since they have alot of mellow poptunes aswell... I hope Ayu creates a few experimental songs for the album. Rock, Ballads, anything that's not an everyday song..
You took the words ot of my mouth . F.ex Beautiful fighters is a "Nice" song, it just doesen'tmake any big impact. It's all very well produced, she sings nicely, some songs I like a lot some songs I care less for and some songs I don't like. Which is strange, cause before B&D I can honestly say I liked every song of hers. Perhaps she's turning into those "normal artists" =P don' take this too seriously) that releases some songs that are nice to listen to, perhaps one to four songs that are great and rest is bleh, like koda, Ueto Aya, H!P idols .. I could go on... If so, it would be sad, because if ayu isen't worth following i probably wont keep up with jpop tha tmuch anymore either.. To me ayumi is about many different and strong emotions through music.

For every person that dislikes her new stuff, there's always 2 more to take their place. At least, on JPM. There's been a surge of new Ayu fans.

I don't think her music this year has been generic or safe. Compared to most music within the pop genre, songs likes Born To Be... and Beautiful Fighters are definitely experimental. Even Startin' has a very fresh sound to it and it can't really be compared to any of Ayu's other pop songs. The only song this year I thought was generic or safe was BLUE BIRD. I think if Ayu wanted to be generic or safe, she would enlist DAI to compose and HAL to arrange all her songs (not that I don't like DAI and HAL, as I think they are great, but they are partly responsable for the typical Ayu sound most people had been accustomed too).

For a mainstream artist, Ayu is very ballsy in my opinion. Look at (miss)understood, which is arguably her most experimental album to date. If Ayu was "safe", she would never record songs like Bold & Delicious or criminal.

About the GEO songs, they really should not be referred to as covers. Sure, the songs weren't written for Ayu and they were recorded first by Sweetbox, but Ayu released the songs commercially first ( (miss)understood came out in January, Addicted came out in March, with the exception of the song In The Corner). Also, Ayu really owns those songs in my opinion. The arrangements, lyrics, vocals, and productions of Ayu's versions are far different and far superior to Jade's versions.

I actually love RAINBOW and I appreciate how refreshing a lot of the songs are, but I feel a lot of the songs on it are under-developed and unpolished. Sorry if it came across like I was bashing the album. Please don't get me started on (miss)understood though. I really passionately adore that album so I'll try to make it short. Regardless of whether or not you like (miss)understood, you have to admit all the tracks are extremely well-produced and meet there full potential, which is one area where RAINBOW is lacking in my opinion.

I hope teens won't be on the album. If it isn't then i'm happy ^^ I like the direction it's going with the singles though.

My Story was a rock-album and Missunderstood a funky-Pop Album-what do you think will the next Album be like?
"MY STORY" wasn't rock. And "(m)u" was not funky-pop. It was really SWEETBOX-ish. I really want a rock album. Soft rock, hard rock. Instruments. Lots of CREA. Less pop, PLEASE! And a few nice ballads.

Do you think it will be a mini album?
Nope.

Do you think the orginal Version of Teens will be on it-or do you think Teens will be only on the Startin'/Born to be Single?
None. I doubt she'll put that song on the album.

What do you think will the colours/Booklet/cover Style of the Album be like?
I have no idea. Hopefully, something creative. Meaning, not just a face! Hopefully, she'll get ride of her current art designer, and hire the one who did "Memorial Address". (is it the same person?)

Do you think there'll be a Bonus Track or a special?
Probably not, she haven't done that in a while.

I don't think teens will be on the album, and I have a feeling that ladies night ~another night~ won't be on it either (which is a shame cause I like both tracks) with the way her single are going, I really have no way of knowing what style her new album is going to be. :p she keeps surprising me. anyway, like asongforxx said, I hope this album cover will be more than just a face. Maybe a bit more colorful, too.

To me Ayu has managed to have a distinct sound for each of her albums, I connect her different styles to the years they were released in. I belive that 2006 will bring a new style that won't sound much like her earlier periods when the final product and it's overall theme is released upon us.

I, like some other here, belive that her next album will be more soft-poppy (BB, BTB... & BF) with some futuristic-rock songs (Startin'). This far we know 4 of the tracks ( I belive all except teens will be on the CD), I think there will be at least 12 songs on the album (excluding instrumentals). I belive we will see 3-4 ballads, 2 rock songs (excluding Startin') and the rest will be more pop-ish.

I'm only guessing and there's no way I think my guess will be correct, I'm looking forward to the release of her next album immensly as it will be the first new album she releases since I found her.

I don't think there's any way to forsee what the album is going to be like. We certainly didn't see songs like Bold & Delicious and Humming 7/4 ever happening. I think she's going to push the boundaries a little like she always does.

But honestly, I'm not excited in the least bit. The songs this year have been too hooky, too pop, and just uncreative to me. Recycled everything: lyrics, PV's, single covers.

RAINBOW was a great album while still being really pop. At least 'everywhere nowhere' had a unique structure. At least 'WE WISH' had great guitar. At least she used English PROPERLY in 'Real me'. And the lyrics were all very refreshing with new ideas and themes she hasn't already expressed.

Now, she's using English just to fill in the melody. Now, her songs have no unique instrumentation/structure, not even decent vocal/instrumental bridges.

Don't even compare any of the songs she has released this year to the RAINBOW album.

I would have to disagree. Though I thought the pop songs from RAINBOW were quite refreshing and unconventional, I thought that they were very flawed and unpolished. "everywhere nowhere" has a ton of style and a great arrangement, but I thought it was a weak composition and Ayu's vocals sounded terribly strained. Even though BLUE BIRD lacked the creativity of everywhere nowhere, I thought it incoporated light trance elements into a typical Ayu pop song much more successfully than everywhere nowhere did because it was much more polished and well-composed.

WE WISH was another song with a lot of potential, but it was poorly executed. The song felt very disjointed and choppy to me because of the jarring and obnoxious chorus. Again, I thought that Ayu's hoarse vocals on the RAINBOW album kind of detracted a bit from the quality of the song. Personally, I thought that Startin' was a much more impactful song because the powerful guitar riffs in the song compliment Ayu's equally powerful vocals flawlessly. As a result, I thought Startin' flowed much more fluidly and was more enjoyable than WE WISH.

Real me is an excellent song, so I really have no complaints. However, I would not call "Woman can be having fun, woman can be like a nun in order to survive" genius use of the English language, let alone proper. I much prefer a catchy, unobtrusive phrase like "We are beautiful fighters" or even "Everybody go, everybody jump" in an Ayu song.

As previously stated, I think a lot of Ayu's songs this year seem to be natural extensions of Ayu's pop songs songs from RAINBOW that improve on the RAINBOW songs. Even still, I thought that some of Ayu's songs this year have demonstrated a ton of creativity and originality. Born To Be... just explodes with booming exuberant energy and truly feels triumphant. Beautiful Fighters oozes style and is very clever with all the cheering and whistle-blowing. It's a cute song yet it still feels mature and meaningful with its inspirational message.

As a side note, I think even if you have been dissappointed with Ayu's singles this year, please don't go into the album expecting it to be awful. Being so negative and pessimistic doesn't achieve anything. It will only make it even harder for you to like the new album. I'm sure if we everyone is more optimistic, you'll be pleasantly surprised by the new album.
