What are referrals?

i was looking at my profile just now. under that' find all post by LacuClyne' and 'find all threads by LacusClyne', i saw another thing under it, Referrals.

what is that???

Its for when you register a s anew member, there'll be a section for you to add "Did any members recommend this place to you" or something. When you put the names there, that means their profiles gain a referral. Like, if I said you introduced me to this place and placed your name in the boc, you will have +1 referral.

At least I think it's like that.

Some people thought it was a bad thing when people report you, you get a referral XD

It's shocking to know that someone joined on account of me XD Pulsar has like 4 people joining because of him :p

I wonder just how it works..

Some people must have liked you a lot and deleted their own username and joined with new usernames instead of requesting a name change just to refer you. I have 1, awesome! *_*

Yeah, basically I say "Join AHS!" The person says "Do I put 'Calico' as the referral?" I say "Yes." And voila, I have 5 referrals. I don't think they mean anything, though. Unless you make them mean something.

I used to be one of those people until I read this thread. I looked up "referral" in the dictionary, and I got this:

referral |riˈfərəl| noun an act of referring someone or something for consultation, review, or further action.

I don't think I can get any of my friends to join; none of my friends likes Ayu.

did anyone know there's a referral link that you can put at other sites/ when people join through that link, you will get the referal.

i just remeber that yesterday, which explains why i got 4 referals, since i put that link at another forum.
