grr im getting sick of my iPod doing this..

grr my iPod is acting up again. every time i try connecting it, there is absolutely no recognition at all. no little noise, no drive in My Computer, and no icon in iTunes. it does this all the time, and im sick of it. ive tried getting on apple.com and looking in the help guides, but as usual, they are no help at all...they tell yu to try these 5 r's...which do absolutely nothing...and then suggest a bunch of other useless stuff..and then if yu call them, the charge yu like 50 dollars to ask the question, which would be a waste cuz they prolly would just tell yu exactly what the site said....so can someone help me get my iPod to actually show up anywhere on my computer?

most of these sorts of problems i've heard are caused by viruses on the ipod... so perhaps the best solution would be to wipe the ipod and start again... is that possible without connecting to the computer? if not connect to another computer and wipe it then go back to the computer you usually use

is it under warranty? if it is, take it back and get them to fix it.

^ apparrently that's the main cause of ipod problems -- especially when you have windows using mac software (itunes)... i think some guy on the radio was saying that

Usually if I have my iPod connected and my computer isn't recognizing it, it's a problem with my computer. Or something could be wrong with your cord.

that happened to me once. i took it to the ipod service centre, and they said it was a hardware problem, and replaced my ipod for free!
