Tokyo : Who is the original singer?

Ayu performed a song titled Tokyo in Music Fair 21 in April 2003.The song is quite good.My question is who's the real/original singer of this song?Is this an old song?This isn't ayu song right?
In case some people never watch the performance,this is mp3 ripped from the performance.

krishna, first off thank you for uploading the mp3 of Tokyo! I LOVE this performance and can only ever seem to find wma's of it. I always liked this song more than "haru yo, koi" ^^;;

annime: if you listened to the mp3 krishna posted, you'd see he actually posted the mp3 of her performance of Tokyo, not haru yo koi.

The song "Tokyo" was originally performed by Kuwata Keisuke, of Southern All-Stars, on one of his solo albums. I may be wrong but I think the song was still pretty recent at the time, I think it came out in mid-2002.

EDIT: Just looked it up, the "Tokyo" single came out June 26th 2002, and the album it was on, 'Rock & Roll Hero', came out the following september. So yeah, it was still a pretty recent track.

I really think that that appearance on Music Fair was one of her best ever tv appearances. A Song For Xx, Haru yo Koi, Tokyo, and Rainbow were all performed excellently. I also noticed that her performance of Change the World on AyuReady was filmed on the same day and that performance was great too. She was just really on that day.
