Thought on releasing a best 2

but why dont ayu actually
wait to release the best album next year
to mark her 10th anniversary ~

I think there might be something else in store for her 10th anniversary... so they might've wanted to get the best out the way before her tenth year came..

Only time will tell.

Because avex wants to earn extra money this year with a BEST album, and then celebrate her 10th anniversary by earning money in some other way.

Actually, ayu is one of the few artists from AVEX who decides what and when to release. I think Namie Amuro also has power in the company as she releases whenever she feels like it.
The reason why ayu chose to release it now? I think because she feels like it is long overdu lol 6 years is a long time to release a BEST album...and who knows, maybe she thinks her popularity will expode after the BEST (think Koda Kumi after the release of First things), not like she cares about that anyways.

I read in an article that said that Ayu contributed to building the AVEX company and her share helped to bring out new artists such as Otsuka Ai. If she wanted to, she could take over the whole company LOL but ya that's pretty impressive.

This is something we will never know for sure, and I doubt it since there was never any public announcement about this being the case. If it would be the case, it'd be great promotion to announce that Ayumi has that control.

It is rumored that she does have a lot of influence on her releases, but we've only heard bits and pieces of it from here and there. For example that she's the one to choose compositions & arrangements for her songs, although it happens that she does so together with Max or other professionals.

I'm actually 100% sure that she does not have complete control on what to release and when. It more likely states in her contract that she has to do a tour and write/record/release this and that many singles/albums/songs a year.

It wouldn't necessarily be the same, since by then it'd have been 7 years..
And Ayu's rate of music-release is MUCH faster than most artists [i.e Mr. Children and Ken Hirai, so the bests would be jampacked..]

And for the record, looking at how avex seem to work nowadays, it wouldn't surprise me if they released another best album next year .

I think it was to fast, because Secret was released on november, and A BEST 2 on febuary... that's too fast for me, she should realease it on 1st of january next year. But it's okay, because i'm so exited for A BEST 2!!!

She's stuck to the 1 album/year release schedule since her very start, we can definitely expect an album around next winter. If it's released slightly before or slightly after new years is hard to say. Secret is her "2007" album, even though it was released in late 2006.
