Sturgis Rally, SD review...from my opinion...

Yeah, I came, I saw, and I came again Anyways, yeah Sturgis, South Dakota 07 baby, yeah! How did it go? Well, Sunday 06 August started out okay, Poison and Ratt were headlining the Legendary Buffalo Chip. I myself did not get to see them, but my mom who's been there the last 25 years said that this show wasn't as good as their previous ones but it didn't suck either. Now, Saliva was playing at the Full Throttle Saloon. Amazingly, I got in even though I'm not 21...despite that I didn't wanna take my chances in getting a drink but oh well...How was saliva? They were pretty good actually, my brother who never heard of Saliva was actually impressed by them and bought himself a CD.

Next Day, Monday. This day, I actually walked around the famous Main Street before doing anything else while my mother went to a bar to go see Jesse James. The merch there was pretty much the same anywhere else, it was also very expensive so I kinda didn't wanna buy anything there YET. But I did check out the food there, some places had the best food ever!!! However, one stand kinda grabbed my attention when they said they had "Indian Tacos" for those who are very unfamiliar with those, Indian Tacos are just like normal tacos but instead of a shell you have what we call "frybread" which is just a piece of bread that my ancestors used to make a long time ago. So, anyways, I order one. To be honest, it really sucked, considering it wasn't authentic at all (nothing but white people were making them, they probably never been to a reservation in their life) so yeah, and it was funny because everywhere I went people asked me if I was "sioux" I told them yes I was but we don't like being called sioux at all, we prefer the term "Lakota" or "Native" (to anyone who reads this, pick it up because you might just offend someone that way) and they all told me and my brothers stories about "Oh, I met this *insert tribe here* and I went to the *insert tribe here* reservation." And all of us were thinking 'and what does this have to do with us?' So anyways, we keep walking, a lot of T & A if you know what i mean

My mother decides to go to 38 special and Outlaws and we decided to go to Drowning Pool and Seven Mary Three. Seven Mary Three was really good, while Drowning Pool...could've been better. Once again the Full Throttle Saloon, I decided to get a drink, the bartender served it to me, but I decided not to drink it considering I had to drive so I gave it to my older brother who was in the mosh of it all. Well, how was it? Not bad, but it wasn't spectactular either.

Tuesday, the day I was looking forward to the most. Why? Because Godsmack was headlining the Rock n Rally that night. I'll cut it kinda short, and go straight to the concert. Fuel, Ted Nugent and Godsmack all in one night. My brother and Sister-in-law stayed in the back. How was fuel? Fuel was actually kinda good, I didn't know they had some harder stuff than Hemorrhage, so that was pretty good. Then, here comes good ol' Uncle Ted Nugent. Uncle Ted would not stop carrying on...-_-* His show was a good 2 and a half hour event...and it wasn't even all that interesting...until the end. He came out wearing this dorky ass headdress made out of turkey feathers and he had a white ele guitar that was called "The White Buffalo" and he hangs it backwards and says "This is for all my native american people out there!" and he has a ****ing bow and arrow, he lights the arrowhead on fire and shoots the guitar and withing seconds...BOOM! it blows up. That was kinda the only cool part about it.
Now, the more exciting part about it, Godsmack finally comes out. Sully can kick ass on the guitar and his drum solo was off the chain! Godsmack certainly is worth seeing and worth every penny (Look for me on that Godsmack DVD everyone!!)

Wednesday, Smash Mouth and Joan Jett. Well...It wasn't all that interesting...it kinda sucked. Smash mouth is dead practially but Joan Jett wasn't all that bad. But then, at the legendary Buffalo Chip, Velvet Revolver and Daughty was playing. Daughtry wasn't all that bad, in fact they were pretty good. Velvet Revolver on the other hand...wow! They're a lot better in concert more than anything. Slash is still the king of guitar. They did covers of their previous band's songs, such as plush, paradise city, interstate love song, and some of Slash's Snakepit songs. It was really good actually.

Thursday, I didn't go to any concerts, I watched the bikes though. A lot of T&A like usual, and some bikes were jsut amazing...I even saw Bill Goldberg...that was really cool I thought. The other cool guy I saw was The Undertaker. He's HUGE in person, never thought I'd see him though.

Friday, my brothers decided to see "lil jon" I myself am not at all a big Rap fan, but it was a lot different to see a rap artist there. I noticed it was a lot smaller than all of the other concerts, in fact, hardly anyone was even there. It really sucked actually, there was nothing but fights everywhere, so you oculd hardly pay attention to the music at all if there was a fight right next to you.

Saturday, Seether and Papa Roach. Papa Roach honestly didn't grab my attention too much, all their songs were kinda emo...Last Resort was really good though I'll admit that. Seether...wow! Seether was honestly the ****. The only bad thing about it was that I was sick so it really sucked when I was coughing my ass off the whole time. The entire Chip turned into a big ass mosh, but it was all in good fun. The crowd was pumped up and it was very fun.

So this year at the rally? Worth it. I honestly think the Rally is something you should go see before you die, it's one of those things that anyone can go to, but i'd recommend that you should leave the little kiddies at home (and wear lots of deodorant -_-*)
