Ayu + Hikki = ???

Do you guys think it'll be a better idea if Ayumi and Utada becomes a band when one day Ayumi can't really go on all by herself anymore?

No need to be this rude , this is an Ayu discussion board and it's a valid topic.

I personally don't think a band could possibly happen since they're under different labels...but it would be pretty cool if negotiations are sought out, and avex manages to buy one of Utada's compositions. Then they give it to Ayu to write the lyrics for it, and then sing it. It would be a new style for Ayu...but it'd be nothing as radical as Bold & Delicious .

i just don't think it would work. there music wouldn't sound right since their styles are so different. but if they did, that would be very interesting!

well, that is if hikki will be ayu's background vocal.. But nonetheless the statement is totally correct.


Back to the topic. Nah ayu+hikki (or hikki+ayu) will never exist permanently. A duet will be super. But they really have to sort out the harmony part first. Using hikki's composition + ayu's lyric = song... That will be a super idea tho. A unique melody + feminine writing gives me excitement .

So once they sort out how to blend their voices together, that unique song will be ready like a hot cake

Well, I imagine the thread starter picked Utada as they were often pitted against each other as "rivals".

It's a REALLY nice idea, 2 of my fav artists in one band. With Hikki's musical creativy, and Ayu's song writing ... dream song.

Well, if she sang a duet a with Koda Kumi, the song would have be called Horny World. I don't think Ayumi fans would like that. So, picking you Utada is the right choice. Trust me, you don't want another GacktxAyumi song now, do you?

But in all seriousness, it would be disastrous if Ayu and Kumi collaborated.

But back to Ayu and Utada, I still say that there's an issue with the harmonizing...their voices are just too different. You got one person with a smooth laid back voice, and then another with crazy vibrato and a wild voice...it just wouldn't work out ...at least, that's what I think.

There's nothing inconsiderate about it. Maybe the original post didn't exactly have the proper words, but the meaning was most likely this:

If ayu lost most of her popularity, would it be wise/interesting for her to make a group with Hikki?

People discuss whatever they feel about it, but there's no need to ridicularize the intention of the poster. If you hate Hikiki, or you think ayu will never be unpopular, or that a group with both would be a disaster, you can talk about that giving reasons.
