[ASIA TOUR 2008] SECOND DAY IN TOKYO

Just came back from the concert.

Random comments...

- Vocal: True to reports from the first day, Ayu sounds AMAZING. By that, I mean that she was hitting all the right keys. I honestly didn't notice any moment where I thought she was off-key. I haven't heard her this good in a long time. And it wasn't like she was singing in the terrible way too. She actually sounds more like the CD version this time around.
- So, all those that are saying Ayu copies or whatever, as said before, it's NOT pirated themed. The outfits were more like sailor outfits. The ship is flying ship. It has propellers attached and stars are in the background. I haven't seen Koda's concert but it's NOT a pirate ship. (I didn't get the pirate feel at all too.)
- So-called mermaid dress: it's NOT a mermaid dress. There's no reference to water. It's just a blue dress with wide ends. Someone should smack whoever that called it a 'mermaid' dress.
- Lots of recycled stuff...like my name's WOMEN dance...etc etc. Not necessarily a bad thing, just not as exciting.
- Lots of screen projections.
- Shuya featured again and again and again. however, it seems that she's starting to use Maro a lot more too. I think that's her taste in men...(just my assumption)
- The first Ayu-ni-kikitai corner started today! One of the questions was more like a request...asking her to sing SEASONS. Ayu then freaked out about trying to remember the lyrics. Since the band wasn't going to perform with her, the bg vocals came to sing with her. They got into a little circle to discuss the lyrics. Laugh She sang only the chorus but it was BEAUTIFUL. I hope they put it on the DVD.
- MC was hilarious. Hard to explain.

these are the key things I wanted to mention.

Overall, I would say it's a great concert in terms of vocals. As for originality, it's no MY STORY tour but it's certainly not bad either. Though I must admit I wasn't THAT excited throughout it...maybe it was song choice..maybe it was just that I just saw her for CDL...and I have at least two more times on this tour.

When I read the first review the first thing that pop up on my head was skypiea, and I could imagine ayu doing something as magical as that arcadia .
