Weird beginnings in ayu's songs

I find that some of ayu songs have extremely weird beginnings and it totally didnt fit into the song at all. One example is Will. The song began with the sound of something being sucked from a tube and then the traditional instrument comes in.

For kiss o' kill, the song began with something that sound like African tribes singing. it doesnt fit the song that is so impactful.

Are you guys aware if those weird beginnings signify anything? XD

for me , it will be Free & Easy I guess . The opening of it's a bit odd for me

what about SCAR, it started with some noise like someone is watching disaster/violence?? news on TV or maybe radio's sound?? any idea??

about Will and kiss o' kill, i find it unique at the first time i listen these songs...

i dont like SCAR so i dont know anything about it.

its like the weird sounds at the beginning of some ayu songs like Will and kiss o' kill totally have no relevance to the rest of the song.. no link at all.. the sounds are not re-used as if there is a purpose..

So i duno what it is there for.

Hehe its true thats its often weird, but it also is some kind of charm with the song too imo. ^^ kiss o' kills beginning is odd, but its charming. Same with SCAR (omg I adore that song!)

Edit; Oh and Dolls! Whats up with the jungle? But its so nice still. ^^ I like it.

I actually always thought the beginning of kiss o' kill fit the song quite well, because to me it sounds like some dark ritual thing... I'd say STEP you's beginning is a bit weird, that slamming sound. And that weird frog-like sound in tasking is.. weird. But I wouldn't change any beginnings of Ayu's songs because I like them all (at least most of them) the way they are.

Edit: oh and Dolls is sorta weird too. But I don't listen to that song too much so I never really noticed.

Dolls -- the dolphin-y sound makes the song quite weird but interesting at the same time..

kiss o kill actually freaked me out with those weird voices and the organ in the bg the first time I heard it, but I love it now.

And although it is pretty, the beginning in Mirrorcle World is just plain annoying, and I have to skip past it everytime I listen to the song.

Oh and the beginning to memorial address ~take 2 ver.~ with the guy talking....what's with that? And girlish, with the guys talking and ayu laughing.....anyone know what they're saying?

yes free and easy!! and in the middle of the song the whole dynamic stops and you hear bells... it ruins the song for me ;____; also i agree on dolls. also a confusing interlude. what else? mirrorcle world at the beginning being the most obvious one.

I would say the bells in Free & Easy fit the song very well as Free & Easy is a very solemn song.. For Mirrorcle World, the first minute was totally useless but i like the idea of it as it created different "moods" in the song, which (i think) was what the title of the song suppose to mean.

yeah! i missed out fated! fated is such a sad song. I think it could be better without the screeching sound. It's true the screeching sound at the beginning literally made me feel like skipping this song on the mp3.

Well, i dont like it nor hate it. jus wondering whats the purpose of it. cos some songs like fated and Will, their beginnings serve no purpose (not that i can think of).

yeah.. NEVER EVER is another song with weird opening. but i must say the beginning of NEVER EVER do sound like its purpose is to bring us to another world.. ??

and for Bold & Delicious, i like the opening. It's fresh. Not many ayu songs begin with such punch. and what's more? it brings us to the mood right away, from the beginning. that's why i like it.

^I think most intros serve the purpose to grasp the listener. And they also make it easier to differenciate the song by listening to the first second.

Though I agree about the intro to "Mirrorcle World". It's pretty on it's own, but it lacks a smooth transition between the orchestra sound and the actual beginning of the song. That's why I usually skip to the beginning of "Mirror".

I hate the disorted like bad radio signal sound. tatally pointless.
How about the start of fated? O well, i heard that song so many times now, i am comfortable with it (just like free and easy) but It will be so so much better if they use a quiet intro.

I love that sound at the beginning on teddy bear. It seems to give the song a whole atmosphere.

I like the sounds at the beginning of In The Corner too, for some reason, it just fits in with the beat and it remains there all the way through the song...

There is an huge artistic appeal on her songs especially the opening tune of ANGEL'S SONG, Will, Dolls, and Pride.

kiss o' kill's beginning give it a more ironic, mysterious, horrifying tune I guess

Aw, you think it's annoying? I absolutely love it. This orchestra sound in her regular music is exactly what I've been wanting. ^^ (Don't worry, I noticed you said that it's pretty. )

Really?? I love that part! ^^'' Makes it more special, like an old record. Like an old song being rediscovered and replayed by someone. ^^ (Just my outlook on it... )

I love her strange openings to her songs as well, but here are some I find very unique:

How about until that Day...? Remember our discussion on the mysterious words ("DO IT, PIMP")? But let's not start that again. XD I like it, though.

Some songs are odd, but they definitely suit the song, such as opening Run, Ladies Night, and Kaleidescope.

Songs that have a strange opening overall for me (and neither suit the song nor sound out of place) would be NEVER EVER and Liar.

I feel like the openings for LOVE ~refrain~ and Greatful days sound kind of out of place. I'm not crazy about either of them. =\

Openings I love are everywhere nowhere, Mirrorcle World, monochrome, teddy bear, and UNITE! (just to name a few).

I'm surprised no one has said Beautiful Fighters or (what I think would be the first response) Bold & Delicious. Yes, I think it suits the song, but every Ayu fan has probably stuck with a new philosophy which we all know states the words "YA YA YA YA GA GA GA GA DA DA DA DA WO WO WO WO."
