~Top Ten Ayu Songs~

After listening to GREEN, I happened upon the pretty obvious realization that Ayu has released a LOT of songs in her long career spanning several different genres, different imagery, etc. So I thought ranking your top 10 Ayu songs at this point would be a fun but maybe challenging exercise. They can be any orignal songs released, be they exclusive to singles, compilation albums, anything. Even remixes if you feel so inclined. So let's see what everyone thinks!

For me...

1.) evolution - one of the first Ayu songs I ever heard, for me it's a classic. I found it before I knew any Japanese but it still sent chills down my spine.
2.) SURREAL - sweet song structure, fast melody, and dramatic ending.
3.) alterna - she really needs to try this sort of music more.
4.) M - love how it goes from foreboding to melancholically danceable.
5.) I am... - best. lyrics. ever. And they go so well with the music.
6.) And Then - underrated.
7.) Naturally - the random pauses in the music and percussion are way cool.
8.) everywhere nowhere - i love how the slow and disinterested verses juxtapose with the insanely bubblegum chorus.
9.) Depend on You - one of her catchiest and most identifiable melodies.
10.) STEP you - just really fresh and original sounding.

05. BLUE BIRD - Shares my third high school study tour memory (to the beach)
07. fairyland - On our graduation-coming party, we held it on the beach. This song kinda remind that my childhood past had over...and now we will face different worlds
08. glitter - Released few days after my graduation, and the lyric fits in!
09. ever free - I lost someone quite recently....
10. GREEN - Ayu's most anticiapted song this year

I just recall to my memories 3-4 years ago. Actually I feel somehow connected to most of her songs...

I wonder how can you really have a specific memory to a song? Assuming you listen to the song without consciously thinking back about what you did when you first heard it.

I mean, most new songs I just hear when I'm at home. And I listen to the music when I'm at home. I assume others don't listen to the music when talking to someone or kissing your bf/gf. XD So in that sense I don't see how you could get a direct memory with a song?

^ theme of a-nation '03 is really amazing~ it's in my top 5 ayu songs now!!! after listening for just 2 days on repeat.

1. CAROLS - i just love this song, when this song out, i'm in the middle of really hard situation, and this song help me a lot...
2. Mirrorcle world - so fierce and intense...just love everything about this song, especially if you see and hear she perform it live!!! totally ROCKS!!!
3. Together when... - love this song, when this song out, i face another problem too...so i can relate so well with this song
4. Depend on you - my first ayu song
5. M - this song is so awesome... kinda an iconic song for ayu
6. GREEN - kinda new, but i believe that this song, will be my fav
7. End Roll - this song, is really touch my heart
8. No Way To Say - another ballad song that i love so much
9. Glitter - my fav summer song from ayu
10. is this LOVE? - i love this song when ayu sing it live
