Yep. Though, do the Japanese really even know about NEXT LEVEL? The non-hardcore fans, anyway.

Even if they don't they had the Lumix CM and NEXT LEVEL is available digitally as ringtones, but I think the biggest problem is that they don't even know about Rule/Sparkle at least the majority from what SunshineSlayer told us. I guess we'll know soon enough, even though we've learned that we shouldn't judge the single by it's first day sales

You are underestimating Ayumi's popularity.
I think when she announces a new album,
Most of the major cities know~

Well either they know about her stuff or they don't. Albums are more important than singles, but you can't say "yea, almost everyone knows about her just-announced albumt hat doesn't even have covers, but hardly ANYONE knows about her single that will be released today and has had a PV and covers for weeks".

There haven't been any performances of this single yet...so, I predict no LOWER than 20k for the first day.

I really have no idea which way the sales are going to go for this one. Almost no promotion and the album comes out in a month. eek scary.

Not only no performances but from what I can tell, the CM hasn't even aired on tv.

I'm very very worried. Rule/Sparkle feel so rushed, the songs aren't up to her amazing standards.

Both songs lack something..

I don't think she'll lose her #1 streak, but I certainly don't expect to see sales as good as Days/Green

I think she'd be rushing it if she actually did ANY TV promotion for this. She was been in LA, and then came back to Japan for a few days before going BACK out to LA. Maybe she'll do more promotion after the single comes out? Her new album does come out at the end of next month, and Dragonball does come out in a two weeks in Japan...

I don't really care if she doesn't do extremely well for this single. Of course, people know about the single in Japan because of it's tie-in with Dragonball, it's been featured on news programs, and of course her fans know about this. *shrugs*

As I've been saying, this DBE movie does not seem to have much hype going on in Japan (or anywhere for that matter) nor does 2 brief mentions on entertainment news shows equal anywhere near good promotion, especially considering that neither of those shows air in a prime time hour. (one was late late night and the other sometime in the early morning I can't remember.)

She clearly preferred spending time on her album and making good music rather than doing the rounds on music TV shows. And many are forgetting the fact it has that Dragonball tie-in to promote it.
No matter what, this album is rushed (more so than any of her albums have been) and she was done with the recording prior to when she should have been doing tv performances, so I really don't think that's the reason. She's been filming pvs instead so that they will just barely be able to get onto the album pressings in time. Rush. Doesn't mean it'll be bad though, just means that it left no time for actually promoting the single. Seems like the planning is just way off.

Yeah, tell me about it! I'm struggling to find people to see it with me -_-; It makes me really worried for Ayu... but can the lack of interest for the movie equal a lack of interest in the single? talkin' 2 myself sold about 80K (correct me if I'm wrong), but it contained two rock songs and much fewer tracks overall. Couldn't Sparkle maybe spark some interest?

Don't forget Tohoshinki too. These days I would at least consider them a small threat. Although they just released a single only a couple weeks ago, so this one might not sell as well.

Maybe if it had a PV and some performances. But how would anyone who isn't a hard core Ayu fan have even heard Sparkle? Plus, even though Sparkle technically isn't rock, it still falls into the "hard" category I would say thats why it seems like talkin' 2 myself/Decision. There is no soft song on it and that is usually what Japan (generally speaking) prefers.

..........watch me say all of this and then have the sales be sky high tomorrow, lol.

Reading Japanese bbs again now, it seems finally someone saw a DBE commercial for the first time during the comedian Sanma's show - it appears the CM just began today.

Wow that's kind of late... but it appears that the actors themselves have actually held promotions in South Korea... Maybe the movie doesn't have much hype in America/Japan... who knows perhaps it's much hyped up in other countries.

P.S: No CMs or anything of that sort in Singapore either... I only see posters of the movie in various places.

Really though, how much can promotion actually do? t2m had a decent amount of TV promotion (plus magazines and radio) and still tanked. People might simply think that Rule and Sparkle are bad songs. They don't have to hear it a thousand times to know that.
