Question Ayu's classic rock influence

Ayu has said she's influenced by some classic rock bands. Which songs do you think reflect that the most? I say until that Day... and 1 LOVE, for sure.

I'm also going to add decision, kiss o' kill (listen closely!), End of the World, girlish, Who... (Across the Universe), identity, Are You Wake Up?, and Marionette to my personal list here. Seems like a lot, but lately I've been noticing little details I hadn't noticed before. But maybe it's just me.

That version of Who... just oozes with it IMO...I can't believe I didn't notice it...

Honestly, if we are talking about real classic rock, her closest tracks are End of the World, Girlish, and a song for xx(a ballads version). Her other rock songs are much more hard rock/metal influenced.

On a side note, I wish she would stop choreographing her rock songs these days. Rock songs lose their feel when you put choreography to them I think. Even a song for xx is choreographed down to every head bang now.

I have no idea what she's talking about, but I have to say until that day... always reminds me of Ozzy Osbourne's "I Don't Wanna Stop", because the lyrics are pretty similiar and the verses are alike too, because of the vocoder and the melody is also a bit similiar or how should I say it. xD

So true. Ayu should do what real rockers do, run around the stage and break everything and just go wild It's almost painful to watch those great songs being killed by stupid coreographies. I liked it in t2m's video but that's pretty much it.

TBH the A Ballads version of ASFXX (as much as I love it) doesn't seem too classic rock to me. I can understand End of the World and girlish, but can someone explain what in ASFXX gives this impression? Just curious.

There's some overlap between hard rock and classic rock though.

Honestly, I feel that songs like Until that day... and 1LOVE are inspired by 70's glam rock (which I suppose is a category of classic rock...) Also, I realized that the interlude from (m)u, Are you wake up?, sounds a bit like late 70's David Bowie.

To be honest, I don't really think ALL of End of the World sounds classic rock, just the latter end, and even then barely in my opinion.

I think that (d)Lma seems very glam-rock.

I personally feel that (miss)understood is pretty rock-y. But I don't really listen to classic-rock, so I can't say for sure.

I agree about Are You Wake Up?. Also, what about MY ALL, that has a classic (esque) riff.

Haha, sorry, I'm bad at adding genre to things.

Some rock songs like talkin' 2 myself are okay to be choreographed, me thinks. And things like A Song For xx... I mean the head bangs are well okay, I suppose. It looks "cooler". But if she has to run around and break EVERYTHING then please swish the mike stands towards Peco's face already!!

Oh yeah, back on topic... until that Day... has a very like electro-rock if you ask me... and the choreography there is HOT! Love it when Ayu swings her long blond hair around in AT 07~

The problem with a song for xx for me was that A-Nation 2008 was such an impressive performance but then the AT08 DVD comes out and it is exactly the same - the head bangs, the moment she falls to her knees, the final pose etc etc. To me in the end it cheapened both performances for a song that is supposed to be very emotional - but to choreograph it makes the emotion seem not natural at all.
