Who's who in ON/OFF

Left - Kazuya Sakamoto (he's the younger one)

Right - Naoya Sakamoto (he's the older one)

Duo's Bio

ON/OFF is a Japanese pop duo which consists of twin brothers , actors turned singers Naoya Sakamoto (坂本直弥) and Kazuya Sakamoto (坂本和弥) .

Both brothers were born on the same day/year ie. Dec 10th 1983 , with Kazuya being younger than Naoya by a few mins .

They are best known for their 2nd single Futatsu no Kodou to Akai Tsumi as it was used as the opening theme song for the anime Vampire Knight & also their 3rd single Rinne : Rondo was the opening theme song to the anime Vampire Knight Guilty .

The brothers's comeback single Butterfly is currently being used as the 2nd ending theme song for the anime Durarara !! & this's the twins's 1st release of new material in almost close to a year & 2 months .

well they're pretty good even though unfortunately they don't have a distinct music sound like NEWS

still they have some nice songs & no thanks to my younger sister who canjole me to try their stuff out

she watched Vampire Knight & Vampire Knight Guilty , that's how she came across ON / OFF

she doesn't like Kanon Wakeshima whom provided the closing theme songs for both animes though , bummer

Oh, I love this group! They have great voices and my favorite single is Futatsu.
Wish they were bigger though...

yeah Futatsu's ace , be it the vampire version or the album version

I hope they can release something new this year sooner or later

I did thought of buying the limited edition of Legend of Twins I : Futago Densetsu which has a DVD & an 80 page hardcover photobook but it's SO expensive @_@

I think I just will stick to getting the normal CD only edition of their album as it's more affordable for me

took me a while to distinguish between Naoya & Kazuya but not anymore

Usually normal is the only thing I get, but it still works! I just have to pay my bills first then I'll order it.

But Kazuya looks slightly chubbier to me? That is how I tell him apart.

I like these guys. I have the VK singles (in “vampire” versions xD) but haven’t looked them up too much.

I’m surprised their last single didn’t chart. But I haven’t heard it yet, was it bad? Lol

I was going to buy the album but I just can’t afford it. Maybe one day second hand or if there is ever and OS press

Hana Kagari's ace imo

. It's sad that it didn't charted because it was only released in 1 edition (unlike Eien no Setsuna which had 2 editions & their VK singles were released in 3 editions) & there weren't any major tie in promo , drama & anime wise

pity as I really like it

The local HMV in my country said that they're selling the CD only edition of the album

I'm going to get it soon , not now because it's S$77 @_@

I did thought of buying the CD + DVD with the photobook because it has 4 extra tracks (not so much on the photobook that I really need) but meh it's going for almost S$165+ on YesAsia @_@

They generally have some nice covers for their singles & CD but the one for Hana Kagari's a bit o_O

I like it!! The concept is pretty good but the twins' expressions annoy me

It's REALLY unfortunate it didn't chart, I was looking forward to seeing where it would end up on the charts since their previous releases have been pretty good (for a debut group)

that's true

they prove the point in that it's important when comes to releasing of singles in that

1) multiple versions are handy
2) strong tie in for a drama/anime will help raise awareness for sales

in which Hana Kagari more or less demonstrate as to why it didn't chart at all T_T

pity because I really like the song

OH I thought Hana Kagari didn't charted in the Oricon

but it actually did o_O at #47 according to http://j-ongaku.org/wiki/ON/OFF#Albums

it beats not being charted at all & at least it's not their worst performing single to date (it goes to their debut Eien no Setsuna)

& speaking of Hana Kagari , a promo pic of them

Kazuya still looks cuter than Naoya to me

everyone can help him/herself to it

& for the record , I LOVE Eien no Setsuna period

it's more or less the song that started their musi career even though I can't deny the fact that the 2 vampire knight & vampire knight guilty songs were the ones that make people sit up & take notice of them
