NEXT LEVEL CD2 (CDL 08-09)
did anybody listen to this? is it even really live? it sounds like prerecorded vocals covered with sounds from the audience. did ayu sing the concert live or was it a lip-syncing performance?
WARNING: this is not to discuss whether or not lip syncing is good or bad, so please keep that out of this thread.

oh if I remember she did lip sync some songs for the PCDL~ Especially Angley's Song... she was even caught on the tv broadcast version! But I don't think the Next Level Version sounds lip synced... she even went off notes with some of the song~ Yeah that's not the greatest argument but I actually thought the NL version had very weak recording sound compare to the DVD

It's definitely live. The audience was not "placed" there. There is a definite difference between Ayu's studio voice, and Ayu's live voice.
This particular live? Maybe it sounds too good to be true for you, but if you watch the actual concert the audio this disc was from, you'll have a better experience (and far more appreciation of Ayu singing live). ![]()

for example Days and Green, they were too perfect to be sung live! i thought ayu always jumped around and did fancy things while singing, so should she at least be gasping for hair at some point in the song??

Did you... watch Days and GREEN? She stood in one place the whole time she sang those songs.

IMHO I think the CD is more raw (i.e., less processed) than the DVD. |

Jumping around and doing fancy things during THOSE two songs? Uh. Those songs are slow paced, and don't require any jumping around or fancy gesticulations or dance moves for them to be conveyed to the audience.

The only song we know for sure isn't live from that CDL is ANGEL'S SONG, and that wasn't put on the CD.
I thought she sounded good in GREEN, but Days was really bad imo and sounds very live to me lol |

o.O she's jumping and running in independant and some other fast songs but she didn't move so actively in days and green!
i believe she DO lipsync at least 30% of the whole concert |

tbh, the songs on the CD are the ones she actually sang, and the ones left off the CD are the ones she lipped =/ (which is completely forgivable, since she had just broken her hand and was on drugs and probably in some pain, she didn't need the added stress of singing all the songs in that ridiculously long concert)

Who... for instance sounds the same in the TV version as in the DVD... But like... SURREAL at CDL07-08 on TV and on DVD were completely different.

The CD is definitely live, and I personally believe they are not lip-synced. (The only one we have proof for is ANGEL'S SONG, but that was obvious even without the visual screw-up, lol.
![]() No doubt they touched up the vocals at least a little, though, even if it was only to make the audio more crisp. They always do, be it a live DVD or a live CD (or, obviously, any regular CD). |
