That makes me wonder... how come they're million sellers [in shipment or actual purchases] and we've never seen them on Oricon charts? [or have we? or is Oricon for Japanese domestic artists only?]

Oricon is only for music produced within Japan by what I understand.
Anyway, artists from other countries don't often sell a million or more copies within Japan. |

^ And also outside Japan. Madonna charted, Corinne Bailey Rae charted, Ne-Yo charted.. But the platinum standard for foreign albums is very low, I think 100 000 only. Not so sure..

O-zone charted for a long time last summer. So these albums do appear. Oricon also has a separate album chart for music from abroad, but if some of the cds sell enough to break into japanese oricon they will appear in the chart. It's like the indie chart, the albums there will also appear in oricon if they sell enough (like DEF TECH).
