Thoughts on 'glitter' PV - Page 5

Well ... The PV .... hmmm ... I kinda liked it ... I mean she looked really pretty in this PV and her acting style was really good ... Just two things disappointed me ...

1) It's a silent movie ... again ... WTF is wrong with those directors ... a little bit of a dialogue wouldn't have hurt

and second and that's the most importent part for me

2) No hot lip action ... I expected a hot deep meaningful kiss and not just a kiss on the cheeks ... jeez ... something with a close-up would be nice ... like my name's AUSTIN ... sorry ... lol ... my name's WOMAN PV ... with an actual kiss ... darn

well ... if distance love is going to have at least a couple of sentences spoken I would be very pleased

I really liked it! I can't wait to see the rest so as to answer some of my questions that I have about it... I thought it was really cute. It's definitely different from some of her other stuff anyways.

And okay, the guy who plays her bodyguard looks SO familiar to me... What else has he been in?

I mean, imagine Ayu trying to speak Chinese for more than like "Thank you" or "Hello".. o_o Or Shawn trying to speak Japanese..

I admit the glass scene was really cheesy, but the video was great otherwise. Ayu looked beautiful in every shot. It really struck me, because it's probably so eerily close to her real life when you think about it. People always taking pictures, bodyguards all around, never a moment's peace. I wouldn't be surprised if Ayu tried to just hide herself and walk amongst the streets like that, either.

Nahh ... no silent movie ... I would like to see AYU in an actual Movie(*) ... but chances to see that are really low ... so the only thing we've got until than is if she's doing short movies ... and in those there should be a dialogue ... I mean getting married without saying "I do" ... I'd kill the bastard right away who only nods at my wedding when the priest is asking the big question.

About the chinese and japanese speaking problem ... try engjapchinesish ... that would be fun.

It's sweet but nothing Special. I want more for a summer Single. It's to dark for me. I want sun, happy people, dancing ... like every year ^^

And I think the PV is quite good, the PV is now has two purposes.
1. For promoting the song with a story.
2. For promoting the short movie.

I guess the short movie with glitter and fated will be different from the glitter PV.

So the PV of glitter is the trailer of 『距愛～Distance Love～』!

Spider Man 3 was a bunch of clips pasted together. This at least had some form of transitions, they may not be good, but fading in and out works better than just jumping clip-to-clip.

Did the intro remind anyone of [Dearest] for a little? I guess I miss old school Ayu. This was just very.. blah. I'm with Brian on this one with her and her same expressions. The whole "I have extremely big eyes and try to look like a chipmonk about to be rolled over by a steamroller" look is getting kind of old. But I guess that's her 'trademark.' Her hair is really long.. I don't remember it this long since the [I am..] days, but if she follows the same path she's been down the past 3 years, she'll cut it super short again soon. Rinse and repeat. She really needs to change it up, somehow. I know she's older now, but that doesn't mean she has to plateau and do the same crap over and over, it's getting old. Don't get me wrong here, I was a super hardcore Ayu fan at one point.. I think it ended right after [INSPIRE/GAME] and the only single since then that caught my attention was [STEP you/is this LOVE?]...

As for the video.. yeah, they just decided to cut and paste clips together to the song itself. Trying to play out half the movie, like a trailer, to fit the song's time length. I understand production could've drained it all out of her and all, but standing in front of a camera, looking pretty and lip-syncing the lyrics would be much better with just clips from the actual movie. Hell, Otsuka Ai only had like a 2 second clip from her 10 minute movie in her PV. I suppose the movie will be better, but I agree with those who said it was a cheesy concept. Japanese "Bodygaurd" sounds about right. The actual story portrayed in the PV though is so underdramatized to fully work though, so I don't think a strong message will or can be passed through. Then again, it's such a perky song that transitions to a song that reminds me of "Colors of the Wind" from Pocahantas (I'm talking about [fated]'s chorus).. I'm not a super fan of the song, but they'll be good for a few weeks of listening, then fade to obscurity again under all the rest of more interesting J-Pop.

I don't hate Ayu. On the contrary, I was quite the fan back in the day. She just hasn't done anything that has had a lasting impression on me in quite a while. And all she's been doing is rinsing and repeating stuff she's been doing since '05. But oh well, Ayu could spit, fart and barf all over and there will always be fans that'll go "OMG THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL!!" so I'm shooting my opinion to very few. =p

I think both acted quite well when probably there was a lack of communication due to language barriers. The chemistry was definitely there. The whole setting was refreshing and better than her usual beach PV's.

And seriously some think Ayu is repeating herself, but most seem to ignore that this formula she achieved sells well and that's why she is using it. avex is not a charity organization and Ayu is not doing this just for free. So if the formula works, it is bound to be reused yet again. She can't exactly risk her career to please a small percentage who want something "different".

However it still confuses me how people are no longer fans but still find time to come and complain.

I think that she doesn't want to experiment all that much any more because she's tired. The process of coming up with new and inventive ideas on your own probably took a toll on her early on in her career. I mean, most other artists don't decide these things for themselves, at least to the extent that Ayu does.

I feel kinda bad for her, seeing as most, if not all concepts for anything she releases is all her. Perhaps she's been taking 2006/2007 to rest and let someone else take charge.. D:

It was so badly directed... ><" It was painful to look how certain scenes looked... the worst were definately the ones where something was happening and they had to act a situation rather then a dialogue - completly inconvincing, like when Ayu is pushing herself into Shawn's arms becouse she was 'attacked' by a 'group' of 'stalkers', which was actually few people with cameras trying to take a picture of her, while she acted as if a wild crowd suddenly started riding her back. The same goes to the 'oh-no-falling-glass-I'll-save-you' scene...

In the end, Shawn's character is really unprofessional. If you're a guard it's predictable you might be getting into close contact with the person you're protecting, and no side should take it personally... or is it Ayu's character who took it that way?... I guess if he refused to go all lovey-duvey with her, she could fire him XD

i think...i love the pv...shawn and ayu looks romantic...i love the effect too..simple and clean...don't complaint to much guys...its good...
