According to a rough translator, she cut her hair a week after she announced the breakup (last paragraph).

I wondered if ayu would change her hair after the break up. That has nothing to do with Britney. It's kinda natural. I think that not a few women do it. Perhaps it feels more like "starting all over" then?
By the way, ayu changed her hair around "WHATEVER" and afterwards, too. This could have been also because of a break up.

I don't think its anything dramatic, it was probably a regular scheduled cut. I trim my hair every two months lol. I am sure Ayu is well, plus it seems like this break-up was something she welcomed- I don't think she is heartbroken or anything.

The article is really just an update about her sales, and how glitter/fated is yet another record breaking #1 single for her, and how she has stacked up lots of awards. All it says about the haircut is that she got it done after a TV appearance, with a positive outlook and a desire for a change of pace. Then it quotes her saying that she will go on creating things that will make fans happy.

well, i don't know if her hair NOW is shorter than what we saw her recent TV performances.. (coz from the latest MUSIC STATION where she sang fated, her hair is back to long again, but i believe it's the hair extenstion)

And about Music Station, I thought the exact same thing: Coz in earlier performances her hair was shorter...

Yeah, the lyrics really show that too, as can be seen here.

Anyway, I hope that the new hairstyle will be... nice. I'd love dark hair, but not dark and short hair. Something really angular would be cool, I think. But whatever, as long as it suits Ayumi nicely.
