TERIYAKI BOYZ� ((B)APE SOUNDS�/ UNIVERSAL MUSIC)

TERIYAKI BOYZ� is NIGO� (The founder of popular streetwear brand A BATHING APE�)'s hip hop outfit, consisting of four MCs: VERBAL (from m-flo), ILMARI and RYO-Z (from Rip Slyme),WISE (from (B)APE SOUNDS�) and DJ NIGO�.

Their first album ,�BEEF or CHICKEN�, released by Def Jam Recordings and (B)APE SOUNDS�, was produced by a who's who of rap and electronica, including Ad Rock of Beastie Boys, Cornelius, Cut Chemist, Daft Punk,Dan the Automator, DJ Premier, DJ Shadow, Just Blaze, Mark Ronson, and The Neptunes.

Two tracks by TERIYAKI BOYZ� were featured on the " The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift " film's soundtrack. Their first single, "I still Love H.E.R .", was produced by and featured Kanye West. Kanye also appears in the promotional video for the song.

TERIYAKI BOYZ� won MTV Asia Awards 2006's Breakthrough Collaboration.

Forerunner and re-inventor of ever-progressing hip-hop production in Japan, there's something incredibly stylish about what UC a.k.a DJ UPPERCUT brings into being. His elegant, hybrid music style has had the likes of J-Dilla (R.I.P), Rosco P. Coldchain, O.C., Wildchild, Dave Ghetto, AG Thomas, Fatlip, and JayDee, knocking on his door since his emergence into the contemporary hip-hop scene.

DJ UPPERCUT sprang into the live scene as Japanese female pop star Hikaru Utada's exclusive, all-Japan tour DJ at the young age of 19. Only years later was he tastefully picked up by MCs at large to collaborate on their works. It's fair to say that his distinctive musical flair and pure ability to transform "turntablism into synthetic improvisation" has only but laid the groundwork of new-age hip-hop for generations to come.

Currently working with eclectic track-maker and producer Yamaro, his new project, "Ill Funk Freaker" is nothing short of flawless and sure to penetrate the psyche in an easy, refined fashion.

There isn't any other news or info available yet, but MUCC and D'espairsRay are both going to be part of the Taste of Chaos Tour 2008 from February until May through the US.

I wonder if it's okay to make a new thread for '08 tours?

The Underneath are also playing, but they're really new I guess, so there isn't any info anywhere. Dates will be posted from the 7th to the 9th and 3 more Japanese bands are supposed to be added (2 of which haven't played in the US) (but I'm not sure if that's 100% confirmed anywhere).

As far as American bands there, I've heard Avenged Sevenfold and Atreyu, but not confirmation yet.
