Weird beginnings in ayu's songs

of all mentioned I only think fated one was a trunoff...Mirrocle World one is pretty good but after a few listens you don´t want to have it there because its too long....

all the others fit prfectly...will, never ever and the others...love them

it sounds like it's playing from an old record.

it suits it perfectly. the song is supposed to be very haunting: from the vocals of a simple "ah" sound to the broken music box.

I like the instrumental and some singing/humming vocal on the background which it creates a soothing effect on the listeners.

I've always thought the intro to Greatful days was really weird. That whole "dun da da dun" thing.

Did anyone ever notice that the intro to fated and the intro to It was sound kinda similar?

I think it gives an extra 'touch' to the song! It's pretty cool.
However I have to agree that some of the begginings are odd xD

'Close to you', 'GUILTY', 'Will', 'End Roll', 'everywhere nowhere', 'kiss o' kill', 'Liar', 'ourselves', 'too late' have some good begginings!! Very different.

LOL. Now that you mention it... it sounds a little bit like that.

I seriously don't think any of her intros are particularly "weird". Did anyone mention HANABI ~episode II~ yet, with all the nighttime sounds? If everything else is "weird", then that should be "weird" too.

monochrome is kind'a weird O_o you get all these loud instruments and synthesized sounds and then you hear ayu's sweet lil voice like a minute later... she just seems overtaken by the bg music.

the only thing i like about no more words is the weird beginning XD lol other than that the song's BORING!

and what about everywhere nowhere? O_o ayu gets all philisophical and serious ("the freedom we have... makes like so complicated."? wtf?!) and then breaks out with this happy-go-lucky chorus.

and if anyone else has mentioned these songs, sorry... i don't read every single post ^_^;;

I actually thought Dolls and Kiss o Kill has really good openings that suits the overall atmosphere of the song. As for weird opening I guess the A BALLAD version of A song for XX.

I think Will fits it quite well. XD It's kind of an asianish windish sounding thing, it's hard to explain, but it definitely does fit.

And I don't get how people don't find the crackling sound fitting to teddy bear? It's about her past and just brings an "old" feel to it.

Now one beginning I cannot stand is the start of Mirrorcle World. We do not need 50 seconds of strings. Seriously. >__>

Perhaps Mirrorcle World was a combination of two interludes? :\

I mean, the Mirror section has its own distinct sound, and the beginning of the song has its own... so possibly, Yuta Nakano made a bunch of interludes and they got merged together?

The awkward beginnings [tbh, I don't think they're strange] seem to make Ayu's songs really unique and they're not very predictable because of it. It's all just fine and dandy to me :\

I say these songs have some pretty weird openings....

appears (Ok, so it's not that weird sounding, but if you watch/have watched that one show 'Most Extreme' on Animal Planet, you'd notice that the beginning of 'appears' is the same exact music used is used when they show you examples or diagrams of animal techniques. It's really bizarre.)

Love ~refrain~ (LOL, the beginning makes it sound like it's gonna be an erotic song or something...and it sounds like the guy in the background is saying 'yeah rub it like that come on' or something xD!)

no more words (The only reason I'm listing this song is because the opening to this song is so much different from Ayu's other works. It sounds nothing like an Ayu song IMO.)

Free & Easy (It's almost completely different from the rest of the song.)

everywhere nowhere (Again, the opening to this song is a lot different from Ayu's other material.)

Dolls (This one's a bit creepy. It reminds me of old dolls moving around in the dark.)

(miss)understood (This one is weird cuz the opening sounds a lot like Avril Lavigne's 'Losing Grip'.)

In the Corner (The entire song is actually very un-Ayu, but the beginning especially stands out. In fact, when I first d/led the song and it started playing, I had a hard time believing it was Ayu until she began singing.)

kiss o' kill (This one's just a little strange. I don't have a reason for it really.)

I felt that (dont) leave me alone and ANGEL'S SONG had a weird beginning. Its hard to describe. I feel like spinning when i listen to it. Yet its one of my top 10 (or 20) favourites.

My mom thought Mirrorcle World had a spooky beginning. She's mad.
