why people like Moments and Memorial Address?

Memorial address is loved by fans for these things:

Lyrics

Memorial address's lyrics are really deep because she talkin' about her father's death.
And death related songs are more touching than a bittersweet love song. I mean, you have lost forever from earth your beloved, as Ayu said 'You have gone to the place where we can never meet again'

Vocals

Ayu's vocals are pretty impressive in this song. When I've listen to Memorial address for the first time, I was speechless. You can feel her sadness through her voice. It seems like she let outside her feelings that she hidden in her own heart for a while.

Arrangement

Guitars, drums, piano. Three instruments for a simply amazing music. Them follows very well the power of her voice.

I know, it's pretty difficult describe that song (especially for my poor english skills lol)
but Memorial address is loved by a lot of people because is one of her few 'true songs' and that makes her more than a simply japanese-pop idol.
This is just my opinion, of course ^^

Why? Hmm.... well, I love Moments. It was really one of my first favorite songs of Ayu, even though the Rainbow album was my first favorite.

It's just so beautiful, and the way Ayu's notes go high and low, but with such smoothness and ease, is amazing. The lyrics are really deep, not to forget. Plus, the acoustic version of it was my first favorite acoustic of Ayu's, and remains one of my favorites even today. >w<

On the other hand... i love moments I was on i-tunes searching for new ayu songs, when i suddenly pressed play and heard this:

I don't speak japanese, and therefore i had no idea of what was she saying... still... i loved it the first moment i heard it. i was hooked immediately. I still love the song, i think it's beautiful. I can connect it with a guy i was in love with in that time. It described my situation perfectly

you love and hate all the wrong songs.

moments is an amazing song *can't say much for the pv though* it's very spring like to me. has a soft feel. the composition and melody don't go screeching with a huge vibrato, overly/underly powered instruments, high pitched voice. It's a calm song sort of.

Memorial Address is also very beautiful. It's about her father. The lyrics are so sad. The song is beautiful too. Starts out with nothing but a piano, very sad and slow, and then kicks in the bass and guitar almost like anger. It's like she's truley getting her emotions out. Then we go back into a piano solo. As if the damage is done or something. T___T So sad. But great meaning. The tempo is great, the instruments are raw like. so is the emotion.

I honestly don't like Moments very much but I like Memorial address for the pure emotion that ayu puts into singing the song. Its obviously a song that ayu herself cares about and it means something to her. You can sense the emotion when she sings it live and even on the studio recording. If you listen to 2:25 - 2:32 you can actually hear ayu's voice shaking like she's about to cry

I think a lot of it may have to do with familiarity, yes, but also very much with lyrics. Memorial address is a very raw song about Ayu's father, and the composition of Moments is just lovely.

I love the arrangement and composition of Moments and the lyrics are just so amazing!

For Memorial address....it's because of the live performance at AT 03-04, it was really the epiphany I had as a fan, I truly realized just how amazing she is! To see her cry, and then to listen to the song...I can just feel her pain and that really touched me~ So that's why it's a personal favorite of mine~ You can just hear her emotions in the song!

I choose my favourite songs thinking of the lyrics more than the music itself. Moments and Memorial address are very good song, the first being one of the first Ayu songs I have heard. I like the song because of that as well but the lyrics are very beautiful and honest. Memorial address is also a amazing song. It has good lyrics and Ayu's emotions fly right into my heart every time I listen to it. I also believe this song is very personal to me.

The same goes for NEXT LEVEL.

Why don't like Moments? The lyrics are amazing. It's when Ayu's poetic. I think the meaning is really good. Moments has such a powerful meaning and she phrases everything like a poem. And the tune is just sweet!
Erm.. I'm not sure if I should really go elaborating but I'll just clarify the meaning of the first phrase: Your heart began to scorch and there was smell of it.. Erm, quite simple but oh well, you start to become angry and it was noticeable.
Well, and for Memorial Address, I love the tune. I've tried reading the lyrics again and again and don't understand maybe because I've not experienced it before.
Not understanding the song couldn't make me like it better, but I'm sure if I did, I'll love the song.

Memorial Address : She does sing the song in very good tune. I've never think the song is a boring song.

i think moments is a very unique song... its just grows in you... initially when i first heard moments i don't feel much for it, but as i re-played for a few more times, the tune and medley just go in my mind and before i realise i was humming to the song.

as for memorial address, its very catchy right from the start, it sounds as if it is relating a story that is full of ups and downs. but, yea, when u read the lyrics its just an anecdotal of a special morning...

back then, i used to play these 2 songs very often.. but now, i seldom played them. even if i accidentally clicked any of these 2 songs, i would still change songs.

right now, i am stick to the beautiful fighter remix and step you..

OMG i have exactly the same opinion! moments is alright, i don't like memorial address and don't understand why everyone seems to go orgasmic about it, and for my dear is my favourite song from her early era!!!

yeah... different people has different perspectives of the same thing. Just like majority of the people loathe Bold & Delicious but i LOVE it..

as for me, Moments was just ok... Memorial address was good too. But i dont go crazy over both songs.
