Ayu is worth respectively around 400 Million YEN, NOT US Dollars. (obviously who ever made this didn't take that into account)

If AYU were to be even close to 400 Million US her net worth in yen would have to be respectively around: 33,498,741,357.06 Billion YEN -- WHICH SHE ISN"T EVEN CLOSE TO.

100,000,000.00 Million YEN is roughly around 1 Million USD (give or take).

Also if ayu got around 9 Million Yen back in taxes for the year of 2008, she would have gotten around 108,000.00 USD worth of money for her tax return.

For example if ayu made 300,000,000.00 Million Yen from her Secret Album and another 340,000,000.00 Million Yen from the Secret Tour (including Ticket sales, and concert merchandise sold) the total would be around: 7.64 Million US Dollars for that year excluding any single sales, endoursements, etc.

Based on the latest figures on singles/album sales in Japan, Ayu has sold 49.01m vs Hikki's 35.72m. And this doesn't even include DVD sales etc.

There are yearly reports on the tax returns of celebrities in Japan. Unless someone makes a compilation of those lists, it's hard to know how much wealth Ayu, Hikki or any other singer has amassed over the years.

Ayu also tours regularly every year but Utada doesn't. No doubt playstation/Kingdom Hearts is a big source of income for Utada but Ayu also has her investments in Liz Lisa etc, aside from what she makes as an artist.
