I'm not exactly thrilled about this idea to be honest. Don't get me wrong, I like GAGA enough, but I don't really want Ayu to be put into the same category as GAGA among Westerners who don't know who she is. Anyone who sees Ayu in a shoot with her will automatically think she's the GAGA of Japan...and that is so not the case. But eh, if its for charity and Ayu already said yes, then I guess it's really up to them. It's kind of strange (maybe even a bit rude) that GAGA's people haven't responded to the request. I'm thinking it may not happen.

They have more in common I thought so at first. Both have PVs that are stories, has symbolism in it etc. Both appreaciate fans more than any other artist, gaga and her fans are 'cult' as someone said, ayu and her fans are 'family', gaga wants to send some kind of message to public (gay rights, love for yourself and that kind of stuff), ayu too. both appear to be very creative and always daring and try new image etc. Both are very hardworking and living their careers 24/7 etc

You forgot the desperately necessity for attention from Gaga, and this doesnt have any similarity with ayu...
Their images are very differente, no one can deny that.
Im not pretty excited for this shoot, I wonder how it will be used for charity for example...
And yes, with Leslie Kee begging for a request from Gaga, sounds like Ayu doesnt have any importance at all, I dont like how everything is sounding right now.

The way this seemed to come into fruition seems very unprofessional. It was announced to everyone before either party was asked or confirmed (didn't ayu say "yes" over twitter?) and now since Gaga isn't returning emails or twitter posts or whatever this whole thing has just turned into a hot mess.

If it will happen then Leslie did an amazing job on achieving all this via an social network and being the most desperate twitter user ever.

It won't pressure Gaga, but as this thread has shown, it does give her a bad reputation.

Not too sure how I feel about this.

All I can think of is people will compare them and there will be tons of hate coming from both sides, Ayu's fans and Gaga's fans. She copied her blah bleh blah...

As a few others have mentioned I think it's not professional at all the way Leslie is doing this over twitter. The LOVE&HOPE book wasn't done over twitter.

I mean, ok, fans using twitter to reach their favorite artist = totally resonable.

Photographer using twitter to reach artist for a project = immature and unprofessional.

Plus like someone else said, Ayu didn't tweet any of this! When she's excited or wants to take part of something she tweets about it. She hasn't a said a single word regarding this whole thing.
