Is this news article about ayu right?

I wonder if it's right because just recently it was announced that ayu sold approx 50 million units in her entire career (so far), but this article (which is 4 years old) says that she was close to reach the 50 million mark back then. "Ayumi has sold nearly 50 million albums" that's like 50 million units or am I mistaken? Sorry if I am mistaken!  ~

I cam across that article as well and I'm just guess when the person says close to that could be anywhere between 46-49 million units/albums sold...
Which seems to be a safe guess with Music station saying that she is almost hit the 50 million mark.
