Singapore's Teens magazine review on Party Queen

The May issue of Teens magazine has already hit the stores here & just now at the supermarket , I saw that they've reviewed Party Queen so I took a photo of it with my phone :

mmm not very encouraging if not a damn lazy review of the album D:

I don't know , to me as long as I think/feel Party Queen is good , I shouldn't worry about such a 1 sided review from a supposedly 'qualified music critic'

even I can write a much better album review on Party Queen than Teens

This is a professional magazine, right? Even bloggers who don't like her have put more effort into their reviews! This one lacks any real information. I hope their readers won't let this determine whether or not they'll listen to it.

yup Teens is a local monthly magazine & believe me , I'm really miffed if not downright embarassed the way they reviewed jpop related material is just so terrible if not downright lazy

And yes you're right , even non professional people like myself that review/writes about jpop can do a much better job than Teens

Doesn't help matters it's not the 1st time they did such a slipshot work when comes to reviewing ayumi's material :x

"back with a new single" ahah yeah sure.. learn your facts dudes.
Even though I would tend to agree with them, Party Queen is nothing exceptionnal but it's a pretty decent, if not great album overall .
Since it's a conceptual album, I guess there'll be people who like it, and people who won't, as usual.

I don't think it's supposed to be very informative though, as it's like one corner of a page, it's not enough space to really learn anything lol. It just seems like one of those random filling space articles.. IMO.

I agree with his last sentence. Although this is an album, not a new single

Well... weren't they giving her albums "4"s since Next Level? I don't really agree, but is not a negative review...

Teenage magazine reviews are never in-depth. They usually just give general information about the album, and then a "verdict". They have limited space. I don't think its lazy, its what they have to work with.

And honestly, I agree with the review. God forbid someone not like an Ayu album. Or "single", whatever

Reviews in magazines tend to be short.
And I kind of agree too

*Shrug* at least it wasn't terrible. I'd love to see a real, in-depth review, though.

I DO love Party Queen, but I have to agree with the statement that it lacks "wow" factor. Though, to me it's still great even without it.

Just a simple review, whatever. Though I do agree with the "wow-factor" part.

Thanks for sharing. I think it really lacks info, too short. Not really a nice review.

The only thing that annoys me about the review is how the person omitted the definite article "the" before "attention grabber". Proofread, please!

It doesn't seem like they got enough space to really talk about it. Oh, well. The album gets a 10 out of 10 from me.
