Japanese version of electronic dreampop electro-pop

im looking for japanese musicians that kind of have a sound like blackbird blackbird :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CGhx8H9h-U

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2XcxKc7jlRg

a genre like electronic dreampop. i have already tried the "main stream" japanese electro music from perfume, immi, capsule, aira mitsuki, etc, but it didnt do it for me.

i dont really care about the amount of singing in the music u rcommend, but im looking along the lines of electronic dreampop.

plz and thank u

I was going to recommend Saori@destiny till I listened to the songs you provided but I don't think she fits what you're aiming for.

In other news, thank you for the videos. The first one is gorgeous.

Japanese ain't got that. lol

I'm more inclined to gush over the 2nd piece she linked.

Hints of Sigur Rós and POGO.

I have some suggestions; not sure if they're exactly what you're looking for (this really isn't a sound I've heard much in Japanese music), but I think they come pretty close.

First off: yanaginagi. She's an anison singer, so most of her promotional songs are focused on that sound, but her b-sides, album tracks and non-major-label releases are big on dreamy and electronic sounds. I'll throw some examples behind a spoiler tag.

Spoiler:
Hoshiakari no Gaitou

Suzu no Tsunagime

Oto no nai Yume

Instrumental versions of all of these songs also exist, in case you want to try them.

And my second suggestion: Eiko Shimamiya. She's my favorite artist, so I may be blinded by bias, but I honestly do think she has some songs that might fit your criteria.

Spoiler:
electric universe

Taiyou

Onkalo

Binaural Beat

If you're willing to go outside of Youtube and do a little downloading to try things, I'd like to recommend going here and downloading "Boffier ~木を植えた男~" and "Kite". Those songs are from Eiko's newest single JAIKO and I think they're some of the most dreamy stuff in her whole discography; they might be closest to the kind of material you're looking for.

Also, emi♡ recommended Akino Arai in another thread (see here); from a quick preview, it sounds like she might have the right kind of stuff for you.

I hope some of these recommendations do it for you.

That's great to hear, I'm happy you liked them. Feel free to throw a message at me if you want more Eiko/nagi recommendations/downloads, I have a bunch of stuff from both of them.

I also came up with another suggestion! You should check out binaria, yanaginagi's former project. Check out their official site for info on their releases - see the freebie download in the music section! The page for sonido, their best-of album has a music player with previews of the songs, easy way to get acquainted with their music. I can't come up with any more precise suggestions on them (it's been quite a while since I listened to binaria) but I think you can find a lot of their songs on Youtube.

I like that yanaginagi person~

I was thinking maybe some Matryoshka. But they're so mellow.

I mainly have ambient dream pop

If you like a little more pop, you might like √thumm.
Spoiler:

If you want SUPER mellow dreamy pop, you might like Cokiyu.
Spoiler:

Another like Cokiyu is Akira Kosemura. He has a lot of piano and nature oriented ambient tracks.
Spoiler:

If you like more electro jazzy and upbeat things, you might like No.9, he also has some really mellow electro work though.
Spoiler:

If you want SUPER melancholy songs, you might like audio safari. They really only have the one album.
Spoiler:

Maybe the evening primrose if you want less electro, more campy/loungy.
Spoiler:

I need to branch out more again to find less shoegaze-y stuff. Even my loungy stuff is so mellow lol

and this doesn't really fit in here at all, but I'm gonna post it cause I just discovered them, and Im in love with the girl. They're like Casker.
Spoiler:

The electro love today.

yeah, audio safari is

such a horrible shame they really only have that one album. It's like my favorite album of all time. I'm always spamming them everywhere Thats the full album, but they have some other songs here and there. http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL8DD92F94F416019E

I have found a few of their songs here and there on youtube, but nothing officially released

I forgot to post this one by akira

You can see a little more, the versatility in his songs.

Oh yeah, and I forgot about Electric Mole, who also have an album you might like. This is the preview.

I also remember really liking murr*murr. Lots of people with only one album lol She's got such pretty vocals.

this thread is reminding me that there's so much music I didn't listen to this past year

btw, did you listen to SingerSen? She's fun. I can't remember what your last music thread was about lol

He's not Japanese but have you ever heard of Jeremy Lim? His Into Ether EP sounds sort of like the stuff you're looking for. I really like the title track.

Have you tried Aira's collaboration album with Saori@destiny? It's somewhat dreamy and calming, almost like a chill-out album.

I can recommend Mizca's super dreamy album "UFUFU", you may like Miu Sakamoto's "I'm yours!" or try something from Germany: Markus Guentner's very seductive tunes off "Doppelgaenger".

Yeah, the way I see it Saori@destiny is mostly technopop, pretty heavy at times, hence I'd corroborate the anti-recommendation, haha.

Miu Sakamoto sounds like a Japanese equal to Au Revoir Simone. "HATSUKOI" is a very beautiful and well-crafted album. I'd also recommend Sakanaction's "Kikuuiki" album, though it sounds more indie dance/electro oriented, but it has its own dreampop moments.

Nobody mentioned Ferri? She's awesome. Her music is super ambiental and dreamy..I love her. But obviously, she's not very known by people...

here's one of her videos (tommorow comes after today)
