'Independent' clap on TV...?

I remember a while back, my Dad was watching this Baseball game where the American teams were playing in Japan or something, I think the New York Yankees were there... Anyway, I could have sworn I heard the audience clapping 'Independent' the Ayu song, you know... But was it really 'Independent'? Why would they be clapping that song?

Well...lets just say the 'clap' is well know...
[Ayu didn't make it up or anything...It's been used a lot before...]
It's also in a song by L'arc...tho I can't remember which song ^^;;

There was a special shown in Japan which had Ayu at a baseball game with Independent playing in the background, so perhaps that's why you heard the "clap" on TV. I could put up the vid if you haven't seen it before.

That clap is on Saturday night live, that 'dog show' skit... you know "clap clap clapclapclap calpclapclapclap Dog Show!" ...and that's what it remind me of ever time I hear it.

I believe that that's a standard thing at all baseball games, whether in Japan or in U.S.

It's just a sports thingy. Cheerleaders clap and say "Let's Go!" It's a world-wide thing from yeeeeeears ago. I heard it in elementary school.
