Duty, which I do own, was actually a let down... Everyone says it's one of Ayu's best, which it is... But i think the combination of songs leaves me hanging for something...as if Duty is missing some song to make me go "wow". I personally HATE signal, i always skip it.
Are you sure you mean "signal" or do you have a bootleg? Because SIGNAL is on ASFXX (could you possibly mean SEASONS?)

People do realise that people who aren't as fond of post-RAINBOW (Inclusive) material don't like it for the reason that alot of it doesn't sound good and her vocals are poor; and not for the blind fact that it is post-RAINBOW right?

Post-RAINBOW = n00bs.

Anyway, I can't stand her RAINBOW album, and IMO there are very few outstanding tracks from the post-RAINBOW inclusive period. Some enjoyable ones, but few outstanding ones. And this doesn't have anything to do with the amount released, since there are more songs considered 'terrible' from Post-RAINBOW. There isn't many from LOVEppears-> I am... with a large portion of people agreeing on being terrible.

i have to say that there was quite a change in ayu when rainbow came out. that was the first full album iheard, while i heard some selected songs b4 that, from all over the place. some stuff b4 rainbow i dont really like, most stuff after rainbow i like, but the stuff b4 rainbow that i like, i mostly like more than i the stuff after rainbow i like, if u follow me

I think I belong in the 3rd category - "RAINBOW" and beyond, although the singles leading up to "RAINBOW" I love, like "H" and "Voyage". Sure, not everything released after "RAINBOW" is a gem, but it's still comparable to her earlier stuff, albeit on a lower level, and then perhaps only to her "A Song for XX" stuff, as that was way earlier in her career. Although I only started really collecting Ayu CDs from her post "RAINBOW" works, so shoot me. What she really needs, is to compose and have a good arranger, like tasuku. Yes.
And I know Kev will shoot me, but I think "GAME" was a pretty good song from Ayu. The lyrics, if not, then the arrangement, although it could have been harder, although I'm not a fan for anything that's too hard.

Pre-Rainbow, although I can enjoy some of the newer stuff. However, nearly nothing that has been released since Rainbow has appealed to or touched me in a way the old stuff did.

I came in around the time A Best was released, so those were my first songs I heard and I guess my favourite sound from Ayumi... But I really love memorial adress and everything else she's been putting out. I love Carols, so I guess I'm all over the board.

I don't think it should be generalized as only newbies like post-RAINBOW. Some of the songs were really enjoyable. RAINBOW (the song itself) wasn't worth mention? Though some people don't like how it transitions from so soft to a stronger melody closer to the end. I still think that composing beats out a lot of her previous works, not all.

HANABI is an excellently composed song as well. It's a haunting tune with ghostly sounds in it during certain times. The song really pulls you into knowing that this is a song of sorrow and loss.

I do love Ayu's earlier songs but I know that she, just like all people, change. People want her to go back to how her music use to be. Well she can't. People will grow tired of it and want something new and fresh. I've got to give her props for taking that step and not getting stuck in releasing the same thing after the same thing. Though INSPIRE is gross lol.

I prefer Ayu's stuff from I AM and LOVEppears .. I don't like her so much lately. I also like RAINBOW but I notice her style has changed to a somewhat more .. well, I don't know how to explain it .. more sort of pop/hop type music ie ourselves, INSPIRE ... I didn't like Memorial Address all that much. I like BoY, forgiveness and HANABI~II ... I guess I liked the old Ayu, but occasionally I do like her new stuff.

ummm tsk tsk x.x... the best album IMO is LOVEppears, "Rainbow" is ehhh....kinda slow...from the "memorial adress" i love "ourselves" and the fast part of "Angel's Song", and of her "inspire" era i like game, "carols" still needs to grow on me
