My Ayu Rave Experience

Ok, so on Saturday I had the coolest thing EVER happen!! I was at a valentines themed rave in Seattle called LoveStruck and I had been looking forward to it for a long time because there was a lot of DJ's that I really wanted to see. My all-time favorite DJ was gonna be spinning, DJ WhistleR, and I couldn't wait because I haven't seen him play for quite awhile now. So me and my friends get there at like 9 and we're dancing and having a good time when all of a sudden I hear the DJ spin my favorite song, Satellite!! We went crazy, singing along and tears and the whole bit. Good times. But it gets better!! Ok, so we partied listening to the DJ who was playing before, then DJ Girlie came on and rocked the place, and then DJ WhistleR came on at 12:30. His set sent the vibe through the roof and out the door!! He played a lot of great trance tracks like Ligaya (Yoji Biomehanika Remix), Come Into My Dream, Chemical Love, and some old-school ones like Better Off Alone, Walk On Water, Days Go By, and Castles In the Sky. I never figured a DJ would play those at a rave since they were so mainstream, but WhistleR just made it work out so well and the crowd loved it. My friend and I were dancing on stage during his set and like 3/4ths of the way through I didn't have much energy left. I was getting sluggish and then I heard another song I thought I knew. I stood still for a few seconds, listening to the trance melody BOOM, the lightbulb went off in my brain and I went into an absolute frenzy.

HE PUT ON FLY HIGH (VOODOO & SERANO REMIX)!!!!!! AHHHHH!!!!

I had this burst of energy and danced my butt off to him until we finally had to leave at 3. Just wanted to share this experience because it was beautiful. I was screaming the words in Japanese and tears were going down my face and the whole nine yards. I'm sure most of you would have done the same

Once I can find some pictures from the party I'll show you guys. It was a blast. I heard some chick recorded his set for his next cd, I'll be sure to post it if he releases it.

At some of the anime conventions I go to, they have Saturday night raves where most of the people with no dancing talent just take thier glow sticks and wave them around thinking that they are dancing. I usually go because the DJ will spin some excellent Trance music. Sometimes he will throw in some Ayu trance as well. It's awesome to here it over great sound system. Aside, from the people trying to dance, these things are usually a good time.

I'm always the one in the back of the room with my eyes close leaning against the wall bobbing my head and feeling the music. Nothing sounds better than listening to Ayu in a rave type atmosphere. Trance is the music of the gods!

They had one of those here last year after Sakuracon. Its funny if they just call it a rave, people will come. It wasn't even a rave at all really, just playing some trance in a big, dark room haha....

I love doing that! It feels so good especially if you need a rest. I can't find a wall usually though so standing works just fine.

Tres Cool, I would've reacted the same as you. I don't go to raves though (Don't think any happen in my area, and I don't personally know anyone who goes to them, or knows when there'll be one...) If I did, I'd totally be going to as many as I could, they seem like a lot of fun and I'd like to see if they would play Ayu. Until then, I have to satisfy myself with listening to Ayu-Trance where I work (Autozone) & also a selection dance tracks (or at least, "dance-able" tracks) like Namie Amuro's "So Crazy", HAL's "R18", Nana Katase's "Telepathy" and pretty much all the tracks off the "Extended" mini-album, plus a lot of other artists/groups. Yes, I do like to terrorize the customers with Japanese music...

Thatīs awsome!
About 2 years ago when Connected was released in Germany this song was played in a bar where me and my friends were.
We were just sitting at the table when I heard this song and I had a big smile on my face!!!
(My friends just looked weird at me )

I know that I would cry if I were around a bunch of people tripping on acid and rolling on E.

you should go to velfarre in japan, they always play ayumi remixes... and my god is it lovely.

wouldnt it be great if ayu did a live with her remix songs?
