Thoughts on the fairyland c/w alterna single

Wow, it seems that this has been the best single for a while. No one really complains about it, not like inspire or greatful days! It is a must buy then?

I like alterna alot. Initially, I felt that fairyland is good except the chorus, but aftering listening to alterna which is really to my liking, I didn't like fairyland too much now. The alterna pv rocks too by the way =D

fairyland - 6/10 (the chorus ruins the song I thought..)
alterna - 10/10 (this song is awesome; ayu's voice really suit this. very different from previous upbeat rock songs too XD)

I'm not going to rate the remixes, because I've never been a fan of remixes in general. So here is what I thought of the main two songs.

fairyland - 8/10 - I like this song and I like the video. Not one of Ayu's greatest, but I like it better than her other really summery songs.

alterna - 10/10 - Absolutely love, love, love this song. Probabally my favorite that she has released this year. The video is amazing and makes the song become an 11/10.

My rating of songs for this year:
1. alterna
2. Step You
3. Is This Love?
4. fairyland

So overall I would still rate Step You/Is This Love? as her best single so far this year, but alterna nearly makes up for it.

The remixes are great. Waay better than we alll expected from the samples we heard. xD One of her best recent releases.

EDIT: Wow I didn't know that the remix had bits from flower garden. o_O I was wondering where the 1,2,3 GO and the "hey hey" came from since they sounded so familar. xD

If I have to give a note on 10 it would be 6. "alterna" is very good but "fairyland" is just another generic pop-techno song from Ayu. It's not original at all. The remixes are okay. STEP you/is this LOVE? is still the best single released this year so far in my book.

I think from my personal thoughts... this is slightly better than step you.. coz I cant stand rock ballads like is this love.... fairyland is very nice *I LOVE THE BRIDGE!!!* if there werent no bridge... I wouldnt love it.. ALTERNA is very very nice...as for reix I love step you mix.. but I feel "strange" when hearing fairyland mix >.<

Yay! I'm FINALLY able to hear alterna and fairyland in full! (My laptop is being upgraded and I've been using a Win95 computer with dialup for a month.) Every song on the single is amazing, one of Ayu's best singles by far. I cannot wait until I'm able to have this single in my hands.

As for the videos, I cannot see them until I have my laptop back. But I've seen the screenshots and I can tell they're great too. Great job, Ayu!

last yr's summer single, "INSPIRE c/w GAME" was jus ALL rock-pop

I like only "fairyland", truly, not so much. I don't like the single. "STEP you /is this LOVE?" was better, even, I don't like it too...

I didn't like fairyland. But alterna on the other hand is great! The PV is wonderful too. Somehow it reminded me of Madonna! Anyone else thought that as well?

This is the third time Ayu puts two opposite styles in one single and for some reason I always like the 'c/w' one better. For example GAME rather than INSPIRE, is this LOVE? rather than STEP YOU...etc.
