I think that this PV was alright. True that the lights were quite blinding and that it could use some more ayu but then if there were more ayu then ppl would be like, too much Ayu BLAH BLAH BLAH. HUMANS ARE SO HARD TO BE SATISFIED.
In short, an okay PV 7/10.

The light is just horrible. I'm basically getting blind by watching the PV. The muscular man dancing in the water? Not nice. I think Ayu looks pretty though. Really dissapointing, because with a song like this... They could've made something really original and empowering. Which hasn't the case at all.

5/10
simplicity is way better!... I bet everyone wanted a pv to show ayu winning stuff and being happy and being in the olympics and doing sport stuff.

That would be the obvious and lame way to do a PV. Maybe for carols ppl thought that there will be ppl singing carols.

This might not be one of her more impressive PVs ever or whatever (for some), but is NOT what ppl would expect, from what i've read, ppl want 80's type of videos where they do in the pv exactly what the song is saying. HAHAHAHAH!

That was rather boring. The only interesting thing to me would be the fat cook, the strange dancing guy (who seemed to like have come out of nowhere), and the drums.

I agree. We could've taken those roles.

I really like PVs that are visually pleasing. Born To Be went so far BACK from that that...I can't believe this is one of Ayumi's works.

I would have liked the PV better if it wasn't so BRIGHT. Maybe the HQ version would be better, but the LQ version is just too bright.

However, it's an olympic theme. I really enjoy the diversity with the kids though. And Ayu looks pretty.

Blind...oh so blind...who the heck thought that it'd be cool to have lights blazing in the camera for far too long? I actually had to skip through some of those shots, because it was just too much...x_x

Ayu's look reminded me of Namie...well, just her face and mostly hair of what little I could see. The rest of this pv...was well...boring...at the beginning. It picked up a little as it went on, but I felt something was missing. Maybe ayu's face.

This song was so uplifting and got the mood thumpin', but I didn't think they'd translate that into the form of a mostly naked dude going crazy for the camera...as much as he scared me, I liked the fact that his golden, muscular self was kinda remniscent of those trophies with the gold man on top. Maybe I'm making crazy connections...

Besides that, I'd say "startin'" was more...enjoyable, as cheesy as it was xD.

That's a good connection actually. Never even thought of that.

What a disappointment.

Ugh. Horrible. I couldn't watch it in full screen because it gave me a headache. If it the PV had been more about staying true to the song musically, which is what I think she was going for (with the dancing guy(yuck) and the drums) and had ditched the uber bright, blinding lights, it would have worked so much better.

In my opinion, she's been on a poor PV streak ever since B&D. Can somebody please tell her that Americanization is Not Cool.

I'm beginning to feel like she (and/or her record label) is just putting out crap because she (/avex) knows it will sell regardless.

Ew. Boring. Too bright. She looked nice but that was like, the only high point.

On another note, it was the first time I heard the song and I rather liked it ^_^;

"SHIELD THINE EYE"S!!"

I have never seen an lcd get so bright... and it was a physicaly painful bright too, and that danceing guy - not plesant. If it would have been a video by anyone else it would have been turned off within the first 20 seconeds... I love the song though.

Drop the brightness a few notches & get rid of the dancer and it would be very enjoyable PV.

The dancer isn't even a real guy. He has no face.. he's like.. CGI.

Anyways, some of you seem to be overreacting about this. o-o I just wonder.. has Ayu made such quality works in the past that almost nothing she does now.. :\ Like honestly, as Ayu fans, can many of you say that her last 20 PVs were even nearly as 'good' as her old stuff?

Oh well. Now people are going to get all 'ayu iz teh suk nao she shoulz not ev3r make anything ever.'

What I think is that a lot of the budget for PVs has now gone towards having incredible concerts! XD [You know, like... ARENA TOUR 05 was CRAZY good <3] But I think that Ayu is only given so much to work with :\ And her ideas probably weren't able to be fulfilled totally, you know?

After reading some of the reviews here, and watching the video myself, I find the lights to be not nearly as bright as they are made out to be. Of her recent PV's, I prefer this over Startin', Pride, and B&D.

^I'm convinced that she took away all her budgets by making the Fairyland PV. It is uber expensive.

I actually enjoyed more of her newer ones than her older PVs. PV like RAINBOW, MOMENTS, and RAINY DAY was better than the I am...era PV.

The spandex dancing guy remind me of olympics, and he kind of amuse me actually. But is it too hard to tone down the light a little bit? I feel sorry for the poor cameraman that has to film this.

Something original and empowering doesn't mean olympics-themed or complexity. She could have done a really nice PV that could be in a way simple yet empowering.

I imagined something like this: Outside is cloudy and windy. Ayu in her house is waking up. It's cloudy outside, yet she's smily. Then, she goes outside and walks in the street. Everybody wonders why she's smiling in a such ugly day. Ayu walks happy and proud. Then some kids fellows her... Then some teens, adults, fellows her. Soon, a huge crowd is fellowing her. But where is she going? (i don't have any ideas for this part) In the end, the whole crowd sing with her and the sun shines on them.

I'm not bent out of shape about it...

The vid as a general whole was alright... was just way too bright. Do I think she should never make a vid again? No... I hope she makes vid's for years to come! In fact I can't wait for the next one

After watching it again... the light's did make a bad first impression of the guy danceing (which does remind me of the Greece games) I did enjoy it more this time, but yeh it really is bright - wasn't kidding when I said I've never seen an lcd get so bright /\ lol.

Personally, I found this pv to be much better than Startin'.
I don't know about anyone else, but I didn't find the lights to be too bright at all. Literally twice I thought they could have been toned down but that's it. Is it because everyone else's computers are super bright, or what? >__>
Also, I liked the song a lot. Ayu looked pretty, I really liked her sparkly head-band thingy. ^__^
