Well it'd make a bit more sense if it was Ayu and BoA, but neither (putting up against Ai or BoA) would be good. If nothing's announced by like 10/1 I think it's (at least) 97% safe to say she won't be releasing in October.

I sooo want a spring album. I'm tired of December/January album releases, it starts to get old after a while. Just a change of pace would be really really nice - hopefully she'll release it in April/May.

Well she needs enough time to do a tour (prep etc.) And I don't think avex would want the tour to clash or be so close to a-nation which is in August... That's why I think their big name artists' albums are all released in the winter...

The King of Jpop is Ken Hirai (the title belongs to him), but Masaharu Fukuyama is the biggest seller and he also has a long carreer.

imo, a spring album would be like, a BAAAD THING. Just look at A BALLADS O_o;

She hasn't done a spring ORIGINAL album.. ever. Maybe A BEST on 3/28.. but that's a best. :/

Honestly, no one can really take Ayu's crown. It's like it's superglued to her head permanently. Someone's gonna have to make a new crown..

hmm... with that much money, i think she can retire anytime she wants... but we poor fans have to suffer.... arhgh~

but i think ayu can have something like 'return to original' and sing those pop songs again... eg: evolution, i am..., connected... rather than more rock style... does not really suit her voice

imo; Ayu's singing style has changed drastically every like 2-3 years...

Look at her lives during RAINBOW and her lives now.. VERY big difference, at least to my ears D:

I must admit this is true. I felt that the length of time there was a lack of news from Startin' to BLUE BIRD was really long too, but this is EXTREMELY long. I wonder what exactly Ayu is doing.

I agree. I wonder if that's some type of strategy or Ayu isn't the biggest-selling single act anymore and they just don't put much effort in promoting it anymore (We always have plenty of info about Ai, Koda Kumi and AAA releases, for example. But Blue Bird had a big promotion). Maybe they're trying to avoid over-exposure for the first time since the beginning of her carreer?

The reason why they have plenty of info about those artists is because without constant info they will NOT do too well without constant promotion. :/

Honestly I think that Ayu's on 'cruise control' right now lol

It's like, her year of vacations and fun. I mean she was able to skip out on a-nation to go to a Madonna concert in Miami and Hawaii/Chicago.. ~~ Ayu was able to hold no. 2 for a LONG TIME with no news.. and even now she's no.4 with like a 3 month gap between the newest news-tidbit [a-nation doesn't count..]

That's pretty awesome that she was able to do that. I know how Ayu said that she really admires Madge so I'm sure that that was a blast for her. I wonder if they've ever actually met

But I haven't really noticed the whole break. I mean, it has been longer than some breaks of hers, but I'm fine with her taking some time off in order to enjoy herself. She really deserves to with all the stress that she must be under from constant work. I do hope that retiring isn't anywhere close in sight though. I hope she kind of does the Matsutoya Yumi/Matsuda Seiko thing with releasing a new album almost every year well beyond what some may have considered to be her prime.
