how do you use Last.fm ?

heyy everyone.

i've signed up for a last.fm account, and downloaded it onto my computer, but how do i start listening (or scrobbling) to music? cuz i see in some ppl's signatures here have a chart of what they've recently played, so i was wondering how do i get that too? sorry if this is a stupid question to ask, lol and thanks to whoever can help me!

http://www.last.fm/tools/downloads/

Scroll down to Audiocrobbler plugins. Download and install the plugin you need depending on the program you use. Then, you'll be prompted to register, blah blah blah, and you're done.

You have to make sure it's working right. On your last.fm profile it will tell you what you've listened to recently. (You have to listen to atleast half of the song in order for it to scrobble right.) What media player are you using?

edit: maybe mc helped...

Heh. I use Windows Media Player, too and at first I couldn't get the tracks to show up. =P Good luck.

However, I recommend iTunes as the Library menu is quite awesome. It even keeps track of the amount of times you listen to a track and so on. Like a built in last.fm with a top 25 played songs and stuff.

This is coming from a guy who refused to use iTunes at first.

Exactly. I didn't like it a bit before as I had RealPlayer (still use it for videos). But then I found out of the awesomeness, plus there wasn't any audioscrobbler plugins for RealPlayer.
