[Discussion] Signature Song(s)

I'm sure this is discussed (or was discussed) in the official artists' threads at one point in time. Now it's a great time (with all these new up and coming artists) to point out which songs YOU feel are their signature songs. Also, out of curiosity, what do you consider the epitome of Japanese music? (If possible, place links to stream the music/video). Basically, what I'm asking is:

Which song, in your opinion, DEFINES an artist? Why?

and

Which song, in your opinion, DEFINES (current) Japanese music? Why? *This is really an open-ended question. If you feel versed in music, you may want to tackle decades or eras.*

So for me (I'll just do one as an example, and may be reply later):

Amuro Namie - CAN YOU CELEBRATE?

This, I believe, was released within the time period of her marriage. Befitting that, this is also her highest (not to mention Japan's Female highest) selling single. Released just before her hiatus, and sung on Kouhaku following, I truly feel that this is her signature song. It defines the softer side of Amuro, yet showcases the awesome vocals she possesses. It's just the tip of her iceberg.

and as for Japan...

Hibari Misora - Kawa no Nagare no you ni

I seriously consider this the second national anthem. Hibari Misora's, probably the most famous artist in Japan, most famous song, it really defines Japan in a way most other songs can't. The instrumentals and voice makes the song really relaxing, and is the epitome of all Japanese music.

What do you think?
