I think she doesn't have such a strong accent for a Japanese, it is just normal Japanese accent.
I think it is quite hard for Japanese to learn English because they lack most of the sound used in English. Personally I think Ayu's English did get much better since she returned from Miami. I noticed it in a-nation06.
