And releasing takin' 2 myself is another thing, I think ayu knew that most of the fans won't like it but she still released it 'cause she wanted to try them out and they are another part of her. she loves singing.

she's still one of the yearly bestsellers so far.

In 2000 physical sales started going down and digital download sales started going up. A few years ago, Digital Downloads started HEAVILY outweighing physical sales.

Ayumi's sales ARE bad in comparison to her old sales.
Ayumi's sales ARE NOT bad in comparison to the rest of Japan's.

It's that simple.

Of course! But they use her songs for that... she's not just there standing with nothing related to her music.. if she won't be advertised no one will listen to her, that's the problem, >_< she knows that. and it's not like avex would help her with that... they LOVE money XDand she's not from those artists that seek being an actor in movies, model, singer or another different of entertainment to make big money and stuff like that.

Well, she said that she wanted to be a songwriter after her retirement....right? So, she still won't be without money (unless she does it for free)....Just imagine that lucky artist who gets to sing lyrics that Ayumi wrote for them.....that'll be a #1 hit for that person!

I wouldn't say she's still in the same position as she was 5-6 years ago. i.e. For singles, she might have had 1 TOP 3 best selling female singles, but now it might be TOP 10 instead.

Actually Ayu's advertisements have decreased considerably. She only works with Panasonic on a frequent basis and probably she does because she has a contract with them.

Yep. They thought she was too old for their make up line and wanted a new face. Beni wasn't really that great anyway and Kumi is now the new face of Kose Visee.
