could the song dearest have anything to do with her? after reading that part, it reminds me of the dearest pv.

Actually if you think about it, both her and ayu sounds very similar with each other...both wanted to give up at some point in their life, both at the top of what they do...so I guess that's one of the reason they are such close friends...they understand each other and have so much in common.
