I don't think ayu would ever change just because she goes global she not that type of person. And I really don't care if everyone else knows her..many already do. All I mean to say that if she does become mainstream I hope she doesn't turn into another trend that teenagers are into and drop ten seconds later, like I said before. You probably wonder why I'd jump to this conclusion but it happens around me a lot. All the teenagers around me don't seem to have minds to think for themselves, and they all like to conform to one another whether it be about a celeb or in fashion/shows/etc.

I'd never ditch ayu just cause everyone knows her, I've been a fan of her for years, why would I stop now just cause people have a little knowledge of who she is? I think thats just really stupid. I love ayu more as a person so its not like I can get sick her...
I do understand alot what people were saying earlier about not wanting her to become global. Its not that wrong to like keeping things to yourself, haha it may be selfish but I know I'm not one of the only ones who feels this way. haha I even asked my friend randomly would she like it if yamapi went global and everyone started going KYAAA over him....she said NO. I dunno I guess its kinda nice to keep it as your own thing, its not like me nor my friend find it cool to like/listen to people no one else knows/likes.
Anyway please don't scold me or call me a bad fan, I just don't feel like I would LOVE it if she went global. its just my opinion, =P yes thats my excuse.

I agree with the majority. I wouldn't really like it if she was too mainstream. Perhaps we're all a little selfish for thinking this.

But I wonder if it'll end up like Hikki's release? It really depends on the promotion she's willing to put into this album. Although, if most of the releases is in the western world and her English isn't amazing, I don't know if it'll work out.

I think Ayu's been thinking about this for a while, I was watching a CNN interview with her last night (her English was so cute <3~) and she said "If people will listen, I will go anywhere in the world" or something along those lines. This interview wasn't from too long ago (Secret Era), I'm glad to see it came quickly for her~

That's what she said, but it's ultimately the decision of avex, like how they denied a concert in France because it wouldn't be profitable.

i think any such accomplished entertainers such as ayu, would be intrigued with the prospects of experiencing being received by a whole new market. i think avex would have to support her to stage some toned down smaller set shows for her if they're going to present her to NorthAmerica, hoping to break even at best initially. if they can't look at it as taking a chance and accepting it as a long term investment, how would her break through begin?

Anyways being global eh? Well as fans we SHOULD support her no matter what! We didn't become her fan just cause no one listens/likes her. We became her fan because her music is enjoyable, unique, meaningful, etc. She already conquered East Asia, she can conquer the U.S. with her music and soon the world. (That gave me the image with Ayu being a dictator in Japan and plotting to rule the world. =P She'll be a nice dictator. XD)

I for one would be happy if she went global...I forgot what I was gonna say...be right back! XD

Breaking in US is extremely difficult and time and money consuming, especially if you don't sing in english and don't live in there (completely different issue if you take a part in talentshows like idols and get instant publicity etc.). In Europe it's different cuz there isn't such language-barrior as in US; I live in finland and speak finnish but I listen to french, japanese, english, swedish, italian and sometimes germanese music. In Europe I think ppl are more used to different languages and it would be more likely for Ayumi to become famous in Europe than in US. But this is just my humble opinion.

I completely agree.

Although, the US has a wide diversity of people compared to some other countries, I feel that as a minority that's really all you're going to be. Because we're American we should learn to speak English, and we get ridiculed if don't speak it.

Unlike how Latino music is a little bit popular in the US, because the Latino population is the highest minority, the Asian minority is very small in the US population, Ayumi will probably no become popular in the US simply because of this fact.

Hopefully, she'll become popular in the European western world as you said.

I think that Ayumi could keep her originality even if she became world famous. I would be very proud to hear her on the radio. I think that music can be very generic where I live and I think Ayu would be a refreashing change. I am not sure about english lyrics, I would like it because then I could sing along however I agree that english lyrics may seem a little strange.

although she has fans worldwide that would not be a wise investion on avex's part. i mean look at BoA she can speak english and they have english edition of her album then look at the sales it didnt sell that well compared to her korean and japanese version.

I don't think it would be that expensive for Ayu to come in Europe for a "tour", many japanese artist have had gigs even in finland (e.g Dir En Grey). Of course it's a different issue if we're talking about huge arenas cuz I really don't know how expensive that is. And in Europe it's quite easy and cheap to travel, especially with an interrail-card, so even if Ayu did only few conserts in big europian countries like Germany, France and Brits I bet ppl would come from all around Europe to see her. I think it would be quite cool, I know my bf would wanna see her live and it would always be cheaper to travel in Europe than fly to japan.

Well she already is pretty mainstream. I once really liked her but nowadays I'm really bored.
But I think she won't become very popular unless she sings English (and we all know that her English is not that good by now)...

And I don't understand why some of you start to whine because of her global plans.
If you like her and her music then this won't change just because of that...
