Fergie is really popular in Japan actually, on her wiki they have 440 000 copies of The Dutchess sold on Oricon. Also there's a Japanese deluxe re-release of The Dutchess with bonus tracks and I read that there's supposed to be third re-re-release in japan with more bonus tracks & a bonus DVD coming up, maybe this Kuu track will appear on it too?

I like Fergie, I cant wait to hear this collab. too bad the title track of this single sounds bad from the preview

Actually it sold less than written on wikipedia..

235 158 ***,784 *,334,216 *50 Princess Fergie:The Dutchess(06.09) / Fergie FROM BLACK EYED PEAS

It's the last week that it charted...

Not that it's small but it's something like BoA's MADE IN TWENTY (20)'s sales, and compared to Avril Lavigne Fergie is just a bit popular =P

And Utada Hikaru and Neo....ugh......I wish the 2 worlds would just stay separate. I don't want my Japanese tainted. Ha.

I doubt it'll get anymore airtime out of Japan than Kumi Koda's music usually does being that it's a Kumi Koda song and not a Fergie song. We won't be hearing this playing on the radio in the United States for sure.

Yeah, and that's what I'm actually afraid of the most.
I personally dislike Fergie,but heck with it,I don't care.
But if Koda becomes popular all around the world I'll stop listening to her beacuse she'd be soo popular everywhere and that's annoying.

Don't you guys think that listening to Kuu chan and japanese music makes you special, just a little bit?

I think it will not be so cool if now everyone start listening to Jpop.
I think it would be a nightmare.

But,who said Koda is going to be popular at all, even after this
(I mean this is just a small thing...)

I hate that J artists want to collaborate with american (I mean nothing wrong with it,but...)because I really REALLY dislike most of them.

I'm sorry if I offended someone or something,I really didn't mean anything bad by it.

But it's just personal (it's not like I hate ALL american artists, there are some I LOVE,but I'm afraid everyone will be collaborating with those that irritate me),
so don't kill me.

Well yuna ito sang with Celine Dion and it didn't make her popular worldwide so I really don't think we have to worry about anything XD

It didn't really make her popular in Japan either... WISH album flopped hard =\

Oh Celine is just some washed up singer trying to be hot again. She doesn't matter

While FERGIE is popular. Japan and US.

I agree So far I was only ok with Yuna Ito working with Celine, and I disliked the fact Hikki was working with Timbaland and Neyo. On the other hand I see no reason to think this will make Ku famous world wide, as this like all the other JP+US collabs will be an exlusive for Japanese market.

I think y'all misunderstood me. Obviously, non-JPop fans but Fergie fans will end up hearing of the release. And they'll check it out. If they like, they'll probably look into her more. That's what I meant, LOL. -.-"

I actually think Fergie's more talented than Koda, so my reaction to the duet is "WHY CHOOSE KODA?!"

Maybe because Kuu is the only one who is wild and popular enough to be on Fergie's level.

As for the HikkixTimberland/Neyo and Yuna ItoxCeline Dion collaboration, I thought they were all great. Seriously, I see nothing worng with them. Yuna's and Celine's voice were perfect together with a perfect song. I like the song a lot. And c'mon, you guys make sound as if Timberland had song with Hikki when that's not the case. He only produced 2 tracks off Exodus which were HAWT tracks. The Ne-yo and Hikki collabo was cool too. I admit that Hikki's voice was up to par as Ne-yo's voice but it wasn't cat raggady bad.

Why are y'all so afraid of American artists to perform with J-pop artist? I say its about freakin' time. Will ya at least give teh Fergie and Kuu collabo a try before judging it?

I hope not though. :<
