tbh, it's probably the biggest tie-up she's ever had in her career.. lool. Or at least, the highest budgeted thing she's been tied up to.

Oh, and the lyrics seem to be basically saying that just because someone comes in with their own set of "rules" that they don't have to be followed because "we" won't give in or whatever. Kind of like if some villain came in with an agenda and people were like "uh hellz no".

MAN I DID NOT EXPECT THIS.

Good God this movie is going to be so horrible. My boyfriend and I talked about it once a long time ago, and then we just have been avoiding it because we're speechless from how terrible it looks.

I'm happy to have a new song, and it's fun to have Ayu tied into an American product, but I reeeaally think some people are overestimating the influence this is going to have. 'Dearest" was the ending theme of Inu-Yasha, a ridiculously popular anime in the US, and that didn't seem to do much. Hikki had Kingdom Hearts songs and an English album and nobody really cared. The average person is going to hear a Japanese song and probably not react much. For the most part, only people who are interested in Japanese music are going to care about an Ayu song at the end of a movie, and people who are interested in Japanese music already know about Ayu, I'm sure.

I don't think anyone is going to identify the singer of the ending track as Ayu anyway. I mean, unless people wait until the credits roll and "Ayumi Hamasaki" rolls by in like 10 seconds..

Whatever happens, she's simply not going to get the attention that people think she might get outside of Japan, where they like to tie stuff up to everything from pantiliners to the weather segment on the news. And if they don't like it, it's probably because their tastes are just incredibly westernized, at least when it comes to Americans possibly getting it during the credits or something. Oh! And if people like it, they might come here saying "Oh, the movie sucked, but this song was really good!" and so on.. which would be nice. Although having DBZ-otaku at AHS seems really unusual. lolllll.

And about the Dearest thing.. it's possible that more people purchased it since the sales from Endless sorrow -> UNITE! had a difference of like 200k, then Dearest came out and she ended up selling around the same as Endless sorrow..

WOW, I had NO idea Ayu was going to sing the main theme song for this movie. That's great! Although I will probably just go see the movie for Ayu. I used to like DBZ but after a while it just got boring and annoying. 'Rule'...sounds like a perfect title for the theme song, and the lyrics sound so Talkin'2Myself-ish. Great news!

The movie aside, at least it's some kind of exposure, though it's not gonna be huge since... who sits in the movie theater after the movie ended? As soon as it fades to black, people leave.

And for people who's actually gonna listen to it, they probably already knew J-pop and her.

But you seem to forget that the new fad is to have some sort of clip at the end of movie. If Dragonball has one, then people will definitely sit around until the end.

Lol That's so true, but if I like the song I hear as I'm fleeing the theater, which I like to call my "exiting music," I'll look it up later, hopefully people will do the same! Maybe they'll stop and notice it's not in English lol

Yea I don't get why people are complaining :p. I mean... it honestly looks like it'll end up being really cheesy (the movie I mean), but it's this or no promotion at all. At least this is something new for Ayu. It can't really affect negatively... at least I don't think so.
