and then, revising the ranking in "ayu's section" (to see which song or video is more popular of are her songs and albums/singles) is curious to see that the 3 versions of R/Sparkle have been bought more times than A BEST 2, A COMPLETE.. and everything! is the TOP3!! and in her TOP SONGS, rule and sparkle are the firsts, and in videos Rule PV is also the first of all!

But isn't this her first single to be released on itunes pretty much simultaneously with the physical release? (I'm really not sure if it is or not) If thats the case, its only natural that so far this would be her highest selling itunes song. And is the ranking for all time or just the current ranking? If its just the current ranking, then all of that is to be expected.

hmm second day sales did drop but not too much i suppose.
but it makes sense, people might be waiting to get her new album. idk.
then that would mean, the sales would drop even more. :O
overall its great it got the #1 spot, really.

^ LOL. But as much as I don't listen to Arashi or any of them, I can't deny that their selling power is CRAZY. Let's hope Rule/Sparkle does well enough this week to avoid getting totally wiped out next week.

Have you looked at Arashi's sales numbers? (or any Johnny's group for that matter, but especially Arashi these days) Days/Green had a lot of promo and while it sold well by Ayu's recent standards, Arashi's 1st DAY sales easily beat Ayumi's first WEEK sales. So to say that she would have had a shot against them next week, even with promo, is not in the slightest realistic - maybe 5 years ago or something.

not sales...but single sales...cuzz JE album sales r amazing poor.....

not really...D/G also lack of promotion.....

i'd seen all JE sales.....n it's weired........

they have strong single sales...n verry pooooor album sales.....

n who said that ayu will shot against them next week......cuzz ayu usually only got no 1 weekly for just a week lately.....

You said that. You said if Ayu released against Arashi Avex would do a huge promo to save her #1 streak and in reply I said it didn't matter how much promo they would do, Ayu would lose - even if it were the 1st week, she would lose. I was referring to if they had both released on 3/4.

The D/G promotion was not small at all.

And we are referring to singles here, not albums. However, the reason why the albums sell less is because, generally speaking, the album tracks aren't worth buying. Arashi's album this year however actually wasn't that bad at all. Maybe they are putting more effort into the album tracks these days.

cuz enough for me to see ayu maintain #1 weekly this week...

n week later nevermind if ayu get no 2 n so on......

i think buy album is worth than buy single which only has 1-3 new track....

considering that there's virtually no promo on R&S , it's quite OK & yes at least it's not released against ARASHI's Believe / Kumori Nochi , Kaisei , that will be a total gone case on ayumi's part

I had edited my post above, I was also referring to if they released on the same week. (ie. next week, 3/4) Bottom line, if they were to release on the same week - as you suggested - Ayu would get killed in the sales no matter what amount of promotion.

Well I'm impressed. This single got almost zero promotion and it's doing pretty well. Plus I'm sure everyone knows about the album thanks to the USB.

Yeah, while obviously the sales could still be better, these really aren't bad at all considering the lack of promotion. I just hope that this doesn't deter her from doing promo in the future.

Yeah if she did promote it more, it would've obviously sold much better. I also do hope this is more of an exception and that she didn't promote this single because she was busy with her album.
