^ I also prefer NEXT LEVEL.

But I wonder if you look TRICK was released at the START of the year, which is probably when the economy was slightly better than what it is now. So, TRICK has sold more because it was released earlier, plus more promotion(?).

Also, the five million different versions of Ayumi's album was kind of stupid imo.
Two at the most should suffice.

Plus it's still the 7th album of the year (is this right?).
The sales are generally bad this year, we're in a world wide recession so it's not surprising.

I really LOVE NEXT LEVEL and I'm proud of it all the same. ^^

Jeez what's with all the hate for TRICK? it's not that or Kuu's fault NL isn't selling how an Ayu album would normally sell jeez... People seem to like pointing and belittling other things to make themselves feel better about something else..

I don't think any of the albums are selling terribly. The numbers are still very high and they keep increasing. I'm proud of Ayu but hopefully with her next album she'll pull the numbers even higher

I dunno but i think there's no need to discredit TRICK till that extent lol.

Personally i like both album, and NEXT LEVEL is just [slightly] better than TRICK and I would've favoured it much more than TRICK if not for its multiple interlude [they are great, but just too many]

And even though NL has the lowest ayu album sales but im glad that it has longevity in the charts

wow x_X last year Ayu's GUILTY sold 500k+ and that became #17 yearly...

yeah you don't get anything at all no matter how many times you compare both albums

that & also the styles found in both records are quite different to a certain extent & that goes for how many editions it was being released too

I honestly thought that NEXT LEVEL might sell better than GUILTY since there're 4 different editions but obviously that didn't really helped sales that much at all

I don't have a problem with Kuu beating Ayu (it's been happening for ages now) as much as I have a problem with a bad album, in my opinion, beating NEXT LEVEL >_<; If it were KINGDOM up against NL I'd definitely root for KINGDOM.

I personally feel that TRICK is an excellent album from Kuu... and it has TABOO + This is not a love song + Driving = my top 3 songs from Kuu lol.

And as Cherrim has said... it's not really like necessary to "blame" and discredit TRICK just because she beat Ayu in the sales... come on it's just like 30k... and we love Ayu but I don't think it's right to be discrediting another singer's album just because it sold better than NEXT LEVEL... oh well.

In any case, 350k+ appears to be pathetic... but really, looking at the Top 10 albums so far... I would say NEXT LEVEL did slightly above average in comparison to albums released in this Oricon year.

Hang on there, NEXT LEVEL! Hopefully like what truehappiness has mentioned... the album will stay afloat for the next few months due to the tour...

I like her songs, yes, a few songs that I listen everyday lol like BUT, Driving, and TABOO even, but I will get bored soon I think.

Kingdom was way much bigger than TRICK, and with just looking at the covers, even that I HATE blond short hair koda, I prefer Kingdom.

Aishou is like my fav song and pv ever from her too.

LOL the covers were awful I must admit, but I was looking at the TA magazine thingy, they were showing the shooting for the covers, and she looked really pretty! maybe if they didn't photoshopped the covers that much, or just picked better pictures it would have been a lot better.

and LOL Ai no kotoba, I liked that song xD but I'm like ewww about it now lol

Anyway, back to Ayu xD; Considering that she's still in the top ten yearly. I think she's doing pretty darn good. I don't think she'll be kicked too far down by the end of the year either.

it's probably just that people can't believe such a horrible album sold more than NEXT LEVEL lol. it'd be okay if koda kumi deserved those sales with a good album, but no. oh well. i'm pretty sure if ayu does come through with a summer single it will outsell kuus '3 splash.' so anyone still bitter about TRICK having more sales than NL can have that

imo TRICK is a good album and better than Kingdom.
Even if it's above NL (probably because of the longer promotion it got so it got more copies every week at the beginning). The difference is laughable.
Like 20,000 copies difference. Last year between their albums there was a 45,000 difference and before that like 400,000 difference.
We can say that both didn't do amazing. (and also not bad).
It seems that 350,000+ is going to be the average/above average of the year while 500,000+ is the very good & excellent.

I could probably write a 1 page essay on why I like Koda's music & probably 20 pages for Johnny's case LOL LOL LOL but I'm not going to do it

yeah it's tiring . I know this's by right an ayumi forum but I don't think people has the right to bash Koda , she has nothing to do with how good/bad NEXT LEVEL's sales are

everyone should blame on how bad avex has promoted the album & not Koda . It's not like she's running the company or something
